This test was weird to me. Most of the questions are obvious, but some of them need context or else i can't judge.

Well, i got this, but this is distorted since i didn't understand two or tree questions. (Like, what was that about "shift no strings" or whatever ?? ) I think i don't have the cultural background needed for most of them… whatever, i don't take this too seriously.

I don't think it's related to aromanticism as such, but maybe Left-Liberals who value care are more likely to be interested in joining an aromantic community.

I've also noticed most people here have low Loyalty. Any ideas why?

I guess I would’ve scored more on loyality but some questions were romance-focuses and Americanocentric.

Overall I identify most with left-libertarianism, so yeah.

Yep !

(also, context was clearly needed for some questions.  )

Very much agreed that this test would have benefitted from more context. I was surprised at my results considering how many questions I put a Neutral answer for.

My Care and Authority scores I expected but my Loyalty score I did not.

Me too. I was surprised I didn't score higher on 'liberty' actually. But, as others have pointed out, questions lacked enough context.

So, does people's 'morality' match their political leanings? I found it interesting that, according to the explanation after the test, 'left liberals' are lowest in liberty! Maybe an american test can't handle the concept of left libertarian xD

I would be interested in how it plays out in people from a non-Western background. For example, libertarians are hardly known in the Middle East and their idea of leftism is a sort of militaristic, secular nationalism. In Latin America, the Left is heavily Christian due to the influence of liberation theology. Yet moral foundations of care, fairness, etc. are known in these cultures as well.

Generally, the test got my political leaning as left-liberal, yeah; I'm left libertarian. The middle of the bottom left square in that four-square intersecting-line political leaning chart [whose name I have evidently forgotten].

My guess is that high loyalty means you put personal relationships very high. In its extreme it entails nepotism, tribalism and corruption. The weaker the state the more sense it makes for people to put a lot of emphasis on personal loyalty.

...and romantic love ? But healthy friendships require loyalty too. Post-ww2 American psychologists like Maslow spread the idea that self-actualisation comes before your relationships with others, and lifestyle media followed his lead. I hope you agree that "Hollywood values" are a real problem.

The weaker the state the more sense it makes for people to put a lot of emphasis on personal loyalty.

I agree, but depending on the state on everything is also a pathology. You could visit Eastern Europe and maybe especially Belarus to see what such a culture looks like. Anglosphere millenials show signs of heading in the same direction. Neither extreme is healthy, but the West would gain from valuing loyalty more, not less.

As for my politics - the test said conservative, but it's an oversimplification. I'm somewhat like neo-cons because I want to see the Third World democratized by vigorous action of Western democracies. When it comes to culture I dislike both extreme liberalism and traditionalism. But I advocate more communitarian approach to economics than the neo-cons.

A nice topic for a PhD thesis in sociology!

It’s a weird branding from a non-US standpoint.

“Liberal anti-liberty” is imho most pronounced in the following areas:

  • a minimalist interpretation of certain important civil liberties, like freedom of speech and freedom of association
  • anti-discrimination laws (at least the extreme variants, like quotas for elite positions)
  • weird/extreme views on public health (e.g. making everything about oppression. If one honestly thinks that the public is 'tricked' into buying unhealthy food, instead of simply liking unhealthy food more, heavy-handed paternalism is easy to justify)
  • environmental protection

Now being liberal doesn’t mean being anti-liberty in those areas. But if you are, you’re probably liberal. Conservative anti-liberty impulses go in a very different direction.

Thank goodness someone else got a low purity score! The explanation for purity is confusing me too.....well I guess I am just not willing to bend with the crowd on stupid taboos?

But I don't get why loyalty is so low in many of us......

Right?! I had similar thoughts.
I wonder about loyality too; somehow funny how we're all kind of low here.
Have to agree with the others, some questions were confusing or had too much context missing to be interpreted right.

Given that they say purity "fuels the commitment to live in a manner that abstains from indulgence in sensory desires" I'm not surprised.
