Woah, this question made me realise something. I have no idea how to write romance in stories! The only time I’ve ever made characters that are in a relationship was a long time ago when I was still a wee little kid, and looking back on how I wrote them, uhh…yeah, you can tell I was struggling a bit. Extremely bare bones and ignored compared to everything else I made back then. And I haven’t gotten any better at writing romantic relationships, because it’s something I just have no interest in whatsoever. Romance in shows and movies bore me to death (and gross me out a bit), so why would I try to put it in my stories? Right now, I’m currently (very slowly) making a comic. And there probably won’t be any romance at all, despite most of the characters being allo (I do have an aro main character though). Initially I thought this was just because I don’t want to write romance, but now I realise that even if I did want to I’d be absolutely terrible at it 😅 I don’t understand anything about it.

I haven't come out to too many people, but the best responses I've gotten were from my parents (especially my dad). My mum was quite relieved to hear it, she basically just said "That's good, you and I won't have to deal with any romance drama you could've had" lol. And my dad went on an Ebay shopping spree to buy me a bunch of pride flags and stickers and stuff. I never asked for anything, he just spontaneously bought a whole bunch of crap which was sweet (and funny).

Yeesh, that sounds like a pain in the backside! I'm glad you managed to avoid escalating the situation though, a lot of people just get together anyway because they're too nervous to say no. One of my friends used to have a gf that he only knew for a week before they got together. It's crazy. How can you be so trusting and committing to someone who you barely even know? I suppose that's what the "magic" of romance is lol.

Of course! Being single allows me to do so much more with my life! I'm already quite busy with multiple things like drawing, college, hanging out with friends etc. that the thought of also worrying about crushes and romantic relationships just exhausts me. I also used to use the term "Single Pringle" a lot before I knew what Aromanticism was. I always just thought of it as a funny title for myself, I suppose I should've seen the fact that I never took issue with being a single pringle as a sign lol.

I'm not into shipping at all. The only times I really "ship" are if two characters are canonically already in a relationship. A lot of the time I just find fandom ships annoying, especially if it's between characters that are very clearly meant to just be good friends. It's annoying to see the concept of being really close friends just get tossed out the window in favour of something that's universally considered "more special" and "more important". That being said, anyone else can ship if they want to. Everyone enjoys different things, I'm not gonna try to stop that, that would just be petty. I will, however, not participate in those frivolous activities.

Experimental Film by They Might Be Giants - about a person making a cool film with his friends. April by Caravan Palace - this one can be interpreted in so many different ways, but I always saw it as a song about two friends, with one friend trying to move on from a terrible event that happened to the other friend. Of course, it could just be about the month April, but idc I like to think of it the former way.

I never usually do anything on valentines day, but this year I think I’ll be a little more “celebratory”… Of course, by that I mean I’m going to send goofy valentine gifs to my friends and then buy a box of chocolates and eat it with my family.

Maybe try talking to her about everything you feel here. She seems like an understanding person, I'm sure you two could work something out. Sorry you're in this situation though, I hope you find a solution even if it's different from what I suggested.

I’m playing through Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe for the third time! It’s so fun and cute, I’m glad I got the chance to play this one because I never played the original Wii version. I will say though, it’s weird to be playing any previous Kirby game to Forgotten Land, because the Waddle Dees are good guys in that game but enemies in any other game. I usually try to avoid hurting them, they’re so adorable.

The Knack by Mother Mother for aro vibes :) Breezy Slide by Louie Zong and Brian David Gilbert for friend vibes :) Other than those two, I don't know many songs that are super aro-related. Usually I just listen to songs that aren't about romance in any way and count those as aro songs.

I have, Lemon Lime Bitters is one of my favourite drinks! I usually hate carbonated drinks but those are a big exception.

I have a very very close bond to my parents and brother, but any family members outside that I don't really care about as much. My parents prefer not to get involved with my outer family either, none of us get along too well. I'd say the only outer family member I'm relatively close to is my nan (my mum's mum), mostly because she actually cares about us even though she's a bit annoying sometimes (oh the stories I could tell, she is actually insane lol). Our other family members are just self-absorbed and ramble about themselves and their problems whenever we see each other, which isn't fun at all. The only fun part of seeing them is the gossiping my parents do about them afterwards lol. I do have four cousins who my brother and I get along with really well, but they live on the other side of my country so we never get to see them.
