ok, you dont have to directly tell your councellor your thoughts on aromanticism to let her know you are not comfortable with what your friends are talking about. if you want to talk to her you can decide how much of your life you want to tell. One thing i really think you should do is think about why you are keen on switching the convesation when your friends talk about romance. If it is a worry about not being able to have anything to add to the conversation then how to deal with that may be very different to if you are not comfortable with the topic altogether. I think it is worth pointing out that a school councellor will almost never be able to relate to the person they are councelling on that truly personal level you are talking about, they are from a different time and how they would have experienced school social pressures will be different. What they might be able to offer you is wise advice from expperience and possibly training in mental health.

I'm just looking to learn some new things, what wierd and wonderful things are you interested in or learning about at the moment. I've got a couple, although quick content warning, this does involve a bit of sex especially if you look it up. As for me, I have stumbled upon the topic of sexually active popes. The short is that 1. popes get accused of a lot of stuff (sometimes rightly), and 2. for a long time it was sort of ok to be sexually active before becoming pope, even married. I love how much obvious cynical power grabbing goes on throughout the history of the papacy. I have no idea how it would work but i genuinely wish someone would make a movie about the life of Pope Benedict IX, because the guy was just mental. maybe sometimes his life was exaggerated by his enemies but still, even the stuff we know like flat out selling the papacy seems amazing. I mean in general, my education was at a catholic secondary school so I got the, I suppose, cleansed history of the church, I had to learn about the theology of a couple of the schisms and vaguely new that, for example, a lot of martin luther's complaining was about the morals of the church, but unsurprisingly the absolute chaos of what was going on was not really talked about. The other thing I have been reading about, and have been looking into for a while is the time a group of firefighters decided, as a publicity stunt, to build a lady nessie and try to lure out the loch ness monster using sex appeal.

OK, incase it is a theming thing I have rebuilt the dark theme (basically made a copy of the default green theme and just changed the colours from that, then deleted the dark theme which may have been causing trouble). i have no idea if this will work since I am not personally getting these problems so no promises this will fix things, but if it is that theme being a pain hopefully this will do something.

ok, this has happened to one of the mods as well, so don worry, you are not alone. i am trying to see if anything can fix it but at the moment no idea why it is doing that. quick question, does changing the web browser or machine you are using change any of this? just want to idiot check that first also is this a thing which has been happening to you for a while or did it just happen then?

Sounds about right. I think of being aro as something that I always was and I just hadn't found the word. As much as I like the idea of embracing change it seems a bit odd if not that much actually changed after I discovered aromanticism.
