I used a ref base from DivineTofu on Etsy, but I did color most of it. My art style looks just a bit different.

I think even if an aro person wrote an aromantic character, someone somewhere would consider it a bad rep

Sexual orientation as related to romantic orientation
Collie replied to aro_elise's topic in Sexuality and Gender
Seeing as I no longer identify as demirose, I'm gonna re-answer these. 1. It took years to finally settle on asexual/grey-asexual/lithsexual. I used to think sex was something I wanted. Being lithsexual, there certainly are times it sounds appealing. But I prefer the fantasy rather than the reality, despite never having experienced the reality. 2. Not really. 3. I guess I see it as "two parts of one identity" in a way. Aroace is a label I do claim for myself. Oh damn, same. I currently identify as lesbian, but I used to identify as bi. And maybe you could argue that since I once had some kinda romantic thing for a man at one point in my early life, that I am bi. I prefer "homo-flexible" over "bi", but that's under the bi umbrella too. -
FursonaPins makes tons of LGBTQIA+ themed merch!
Collie replied to Storm_leopardcat's topic in Aromantic Pride and Culture
I have the first run of Pride Pins from 2019 when it was a kickstarter campaign. At the time I identified as demisexual, so I had the demi one, a bi one, and a unity flag one. I've since given the bi merch away to a friend. I have some aro and ace stuff too, including pins and wristbands. -
When I go to conventions and such usually one or two people notice the aro colors. It's not super common, but nerd/geek culture is apparently queer enough that nerds/geeks know more about LGBTQIA stuff than does the general public. Oh. I have also had people at work notice my ace colors. Twice, anyway. Doesn't happen often. Another time someone asked me what my ace pin meant.

I love FursonaPins! I have lots of their stuff, including a Sawyer ita bag (one of the first ones from a couple years back) and a Sawyer plush. And of course I have pride stuff too! -
Non-Binary Representation in Media
Collie replied to Alaska Native Manitou's topic in Sexuality and Gender
There is a non-binary character in Komi Can't Communicate! Crona my beloved. They are my baby. I was so depressed when the manga ended. -

Not to give false hope, but some aromantics are open to dating despite not feeling romantic attraction. As an aro-spec person myself, I do find people asking me out to be a hassle. (It's happened, like.... twice? Turned both down.) But I don't blame people for shooting their shot, I just see the awkwardness of it as being part of the process. I don't think it'd be wrong of you to confess to him, but that's my opinion.

I think it's mostly cuz they think LGBTQ is the "not straight or cis club", and that including the A is broadening the inclusion too much. I've also seen sentiments that we don't have anything we're demanding from society (so they say), whereas the LGB and T are fighting for equal rights. All that said, of course we are fighting for something: awareness. And marriage laws do potentially affect us as well, as some religious people insist that a sexless marriage is not a legitimate marriage. If the religious right takes over and asexuality becomes more well known, they may insist on making laws about sex inside marriage.

How are You a 'Bad' Aromantic Spectrum Person?
Collie replied to RedNeko's topic in Aromantic Discussion
-am greyro -out as lesbian despite being primarily aromantic -
I made myself believe I had a crush on someone once to fit in with a friend I was talking to.

Being publicly out as a lesbian is hard when I'm mostly aromantic. I'm mainly out for "political reasons", so I can speak on issues affecting "same sex attracted" people in the church. I am a lesbian technically, but I identify with being aromantic so much more most of the time. Bein inbetween categories is hard sometimes.

Some do take the verse that says Jesus was "tempted in every way as we are" to mean He was bisexual or pansexual. But who really knows. I don't pretend to.

Even though this song has references to romance, it's still a bop
