Sometimes I love they/them. Sometimes I hate they/them. Sometimes I prefer she/her, not because I necessarily like she/her, but because they/them feels icky and I hate being called he/him. I have found my gender identity is somewhat fluid. Sometimes I do identify with my AGAB, most of the time I am genderless and strongly prefer it that way. I understand this is known as "libragender" or "librafeminine"

Yo, the the FUCK I just found out I'm not doing my insulin injections correctly. It's been over a year on this stuff, and it turns out I haven't been taking full dosages! WHAT THE FUCK

A strong reaction to having a particular gender identity could be an indicator that it's not right for you. But it may also be that you are afraid of judgement in regards to that identity.

Hi! Looks like we live in the same state :) -
Me too! I kinda just automatically assume everyone is both aro and ace until proven otherwise. There seems to be some difference in opinion over whether or not Yuu is aro spec or not, but I really don't see how she is not at this point. (I finished episode 9 last night.) Def grey-aro imo. This anime is awesome.

I came out as gay, and it went pretty well. I have not come out as aroace, but it's not a secret. I think one thing that helped for me is having built a support network for myself, people who would have my back no matter what happened.

I think 15 is a good time to consider it. Usually by that time most people have experienced some form of romantic or sexual attraction. There is always the possibility that you may still develop some attraction later, but you can always change the labels if so. No big deal. -
I'm not terribly familiar with BBC Sherlock. I saw the first episode years ago, that's about my extent of exposure. But yeah, people do tend to think "lack of interest in opposite sex.... must be gae". And yeah, that's a bit frustrating cuz it reminds that we are an afterthought at the very most.

Mod hat on. Let's be courteous to others, please. This includes, but is not limited to, headcanons. We are discussing fiction, it need not be serious.

I thought I had a crush or two in elementary school when I was a kid, but looking back I think I just assumed they were crushes cuz I just happened to have friendship feelings for someone of the opposite sex. I "liked" a boy, so it had to be a crush right? Wrong. But I have had a couple crushes. They are rare. I also don't want to date anyone.

No, I would think it's not romantic by definition. I don't know if queerplatonic attraction is a thing or not (some say it is), but a QPR specifically, is a relationship that would appear closer than friendship and yet not a romantic relationship. The definition is broad and vague by design, but one thing is that it's not a romantic thing. People outside of the relationship may assume that it's romantic, but that doesn't make it so.

I guess, I could see her being aromantic.

Getting a diagnosis is so hard. I had to take out a loan to afford mine, and I'm still paying it off. (I've only get a few more months of payments to go.)

If someone could relate, that'd be great thanks

I definitely have a strong tendency to be obsessive about needing to "know for sure", so I get it -
My mom once told me when I was young "some people just don't have crushes". I immediately wanted to be one of those "people who just don't have crushes". When I was 17 and still hadn't had a crush, that came back to me and I wondered about it. (I did have a couple crushes in the following years, so being on the aro spectrum did take me a long while to figure out.)
