  1. Sounds like she needs more time for herself and not have to be constantly available. Not sure why you are asking this at this website though. Go to reddit instead
  2. @Jedi That's fun! Now I also want to categories my books according to level of romance. But I don't have a book case since they're all on ebook. Maybe I'll make a top twenty list. That could be a new long thread for those interested in adding their own.
  3. @nisse do you know any scene with that character which I could use in a compilation video of aromantic characters? Similar to this https://youtu.be/YLADBcXwq3I
  4. There's a growing number of singles who are not interested in coupling up. I think that the issues facing them is almost identical to aros. How do you feel about people who identify as single for life / solo / self partnered etc? Do you feel common cause with them? Are you involved in any community for singles?
  5. Even if someone knows about the term aromanticism, which not everyone does, there are still hinders for them to apply it to themselves. The most common one from what I've seen is the assumption one is not aro if one wants a relationship. Or to not understand different types of attraction. I think it'll change over time as more people id as aro, but it sad to think about all those that could have felt acceptance with the label and don't know it.
  6. I never labeled myself as anything else but I did go on a date with a woman to try it. If I had known about different labels it probably would have gone something like: demisexual, homosexual ... aromantic, gray sexual, asexual.
  7. It can never hurt to see a therapist. You could go and talk to one and see what they think.
  8. Welcome and happy holidays!
  9. Or another language you know. God Jul!
  10. @nonmerci how would you say the equivalent of "a romantic relationship" in french? I've taken five years of French but I only know words for food and animals.
  11. In spring next year I might be in financial a situation to start a co-living apartment. But I don't know if I'll want to of COVID is still going. It's sad to have to wait so much to live the way I want to.
  12. I like Let in snow and it's not very romantic. Just change kiss to hug and it's done. When we finally kiss hugg goodnight How I'll hate going out in the storm But if you really hold me tight All the way home I'll be warm
  13. BTW the author of the book is trans and he has interviewed many trans and non-binary people, so that's an added bonus.
  14. Interesting discussion! I'm regards to terms in different languages I do have a reflection that smaller languages can have more of a problem with making their own terms. If it's a label that's relatively unknown like aroallo it might be hard finding other with the same language to form a community with. Also the community on the internet can rival local communities in smaller languages because people spend time there discussing in English rather than developing their own language. This is a similar problem that many smaller countries face in regard of research in niche fields. Researchers choose to publish in English to get a larger audience and so nothing is written in their own language and no vocabulary is being developed to discuss the concepts. That was totally off topic but I think relevant to a broader topic of terminology.
  15. I'm reading a very interesting book called Laziness does not exist. The author posits that the concept of laziness is very damaging and doesn't really have much basis on reality and how humans function. I've not read very far yet but I wanted to share it. Have anyone else read the book. Or maybe has some overall reflection of the concept of laziness. What's your personal relationship to it?
  16. I like the word solo. But I've not used it much since it's been a long time since anyone asked directly about my relationship status.
  17. Maybe a swell shark since they can glow green
  18. This thread makes me think about the concept of tulpas https://www.wikihow.com/Create-a-Tulpa
  19. The proud swedish traditions of burning the straw goat is once again upheld.

      roboticanary

This is just the best Christmas tradition.

  20. Yes the song is supposed to be creepy. It's weird that so many people see it as romantic. But I suppose the melody plays a part in that, it's kinda romantic so that might add to the vibe. Kinda like my friend who thought that the rebounder by Amanda Jenssen was a feel good song, cause of the melody. I think most women has to deal with romantic or sexual obsession from men. I've certainly encountered it. But I assume it's much less a problem for men. I suppose some women might do a kind of emotional manipulation, trying to get someone to feel guilty.
  21. I've been listening to this podcast and it has some great episodes. Like E65 Dating remarkable friends, where one of the guests is clearly aro.
