yep, i remember that. I also remember the random thoughts that would pop up into your sims head. Like my character was thinking about romance while what i want them to think about is bringing as many townspeople as i can over for a party and trapping them in a swimming pool. Or making megabucks by working team of artists to despair in my basement. Get with the game plan little sim.

yeah, I think this is the problem I have with the 'you can just imagine' idea. You can, but from what I remember about the series, you couldn't control the desires your sim has, so at some point they will have a desire to kiss someone and I suppose its quite hard to imagine a character not being interested in something the game is telling you they are interested in (and offering you a reward for engaging in that interest)

There has been a rule change to how anonymous q&a works. Basically as people will likely have noticed quite a few odd questions turn up on anonymous q&a about issues which really are not good to be answered on an aromantic forum. So we are going to try out a change of rules, we are requiring posts to be in some way relevant to aromanticism. I think the odd questions were most likely not from members, but I think you should be made aware of this change. If there are any posts put up after this post which you think do not obey this, you can always message one of the mods or myself and we can take a look. I would also like feedback. I personally think this is a useful change but if you have arguments against the rule, or arguments that the wording of the rule should change in some way, please reply here. I am totally OK with changing the rule on response to feedback.

I relate to the idea that almost all of the representation is aro/ace. that is certainly understandable as a reason for it to be less relatable to me. One thing that i do wonder though is how much non aro people relate to romance in media. my suspicion is that a lot of people don't find a reasonable idea of romance in media. There was a post about that a while back. so if romance in media is off what reality gives us, and depictions of aromanticism tend to focus on that person's reaction to romance, its going to be difficult for me to relate an aromantic character, because that ideas they have to deal with are so detached from how things happen in reality.
