  1. Happy Hikaru no Go Day/Free Comic Book Day!

  2. And like, I guess there's always the gen Jojo server, but it's so small... We only have about four, maybe five actual active members, two of whom are more like semi-active... :(

Yes, that would be the gen Jojo server. I made it.

Oh well that's great you created a fandom that a five members that's already awesome. Even if it's not as big as you wanted it's still a huge achievement. Don't lose hope. I'm sure you can get more following. Try recruiting new members to the fandom ?

tbh your fandom needs to appreciate you more :coffee:

  3. Someone started a Discord server for people who run Jotaro-centric blogs, and I wanted to join, but... this fandom is so fucking unfriendly to aspecs and I really can't handle Jotaro ships, so I know it would be a bad idea to join the server. Sigh

  4. I wish aro socks existed. But nobody wants to acknowledge us in their cutesy pride merch.

Yeess thank you for saying that. I've had to custom make my own flag like I was a corporation because I couldn't find any aro flags on site that sells pride merch. And the logo needs to be approved by employees so people that I don't know are gonna have to discuss with me about my logo and the proportion and everything. It doesn't make me anxiouus at aaaaall. I shouldn't have to go to this trouble to be able to be properly proud at a pride. It really sucks.

Here's some aro socks. A fellow arocalypse user introduced me to this website.

@Naegleria fowleri I love this. And the shipping cost aren't that high. Thank you so much I'm gonna rock that pride.

  5. Been thinking a lot about the use of leitmotifs in the Jojo anime... This is a particularly pretty track and an interesting take on the Stardust Crusaders theme, and the very very subtle incorporation of SDC Dio's theme is interesting too! Especially with the title, I guess you could consider it representative of how, even after the events of 1987/1988, Dio's legacy still continues to affect Jotaro and cause trouble one way or another. God, if we ever get as far as Stone Ocean in the anime and they don't use SDC Dio's theme, I'm gonna sue lmao I just really, really wish Jonathan's leitmotif had been incorporated into later soundtracks... It was so good, and his legacy is so hugely important to the series, I wish we'd gotten to hear a callback to that at some point in the same way that we hear callbacks to Stardust Crusaders in Diamond is Unbreakable. It's too bad I don't really have any skill at composing/arranging music, because I'd really love to hear something that incorporates Jonathan's theme, SDC Dio's theme, and maybe the Stone Mask's theme... Something featuring all of the Joestar themes would be cool, too. (Although I don't think Joseph has one? Idk, the part 2 OST was really weird. I don't really like it that much tbh, aside from the Pillar Men theme, which as we all know is the best track in the entire anime.) Idk, I guess I'm just kinda rambling, but what I'm trying to say is: Leitmotifs GOOD. Jojo soundtrack GOOD. Ignoring Jonathan's legacy BAD. (Even if, I'm gonna guess, it's probably just because SDC and DiU's soundtracks were both by Yugo Kanno, while PB was Hayato Matsuo, so maybe it's some copyright thing? Or maybe Kanno just didn't want to use the other soundtracks, in which case guess I'll have to kick his ass because LET US HEAR THE OG BOY YOU FOOL)
  6. What if I told you... that it was possible to write slice-of-life fics... and still let characters keep their superpowers

  7. Also, on that note? Nobody's allowed to tell me I should strive towards publishing unless they're volunteering to personally hook me up with Shueisha, Square Enix, or Marvel. Thanks

  8. Forever really salty that Moffat and Gatiss can write a modern AU that’s frankly pretty OOC and win awards for it, but whenever I write fanfiction it’s “not ~real~ writing” like holy double standards Batman

  9. My normal weekend schedule:

    • Excitedly decide I'm going to spend all weekend working on my personal projects (writing, drawing, sewing projects, etc.)
    • Friday: Be lazy and don't do them
    • Saturday: Sorta do them
    • Sunday: Get really excited to do them
    • Sunday: Remember I do, in fact, have homework
    • Sunday: Panic
  10. The Spontaneous Overly Ambitious Craft Ideas demon that whispers in my ear is back and he's telling me to buy a roomba and make it a Sheer Heart Attack costume (and bring it to my local anime convention)

  11. I have this aro (well. idk if that was the intention behind it, but) hair bow I got at a convention last year that I really love, and today I found the same fabric on sale at the fabric store! ?I bought some of course, but now I have to decide what to make with it. It's quilt fabric so tbh it's highly likely it'll wind up being a skirt, lmao.

  12. PSA: Even if you think you're bad at sewing, I promise you your stuff will look much, much neater if you ACTUALLY IRON/PRESS THINGS BEFORE YOU STITCH THEM. ESPECIALLY HEMS. NEVER TRY TO SEW A HEM WITHOUT PRESSING IT OH MY GOD. Anyway I'm entirely convinced nobody is actually as ~terrible~ at sewing as they believe they are, it's more an issue of proper technique and prep work. Please believe in yourselves and p l e a s e press your fucking hems

      aro_elise

yup, i'm a fashion design student.  i also always iron my fabric before cutting or sewing.  can't be losing precision before you even start.

  13. For me, I wouldn't want to be in a QPR, for that same reason; I like my freedom, I don't want to be tied to one person. Idk about an open relationship, I suppose it would depend on the circumstances..? But it would have to not be a romantic relationship, of course. I'm still romance repulsed regardless of the level of commitment. I like to think of myself as being like Greed from Fullmetal Alchemist: I love my friends, I watch out for them, and I like having a group of friends, but I'm my own boss. I do what I feel like doing and I don't need to take orders from anyone else. (I mean, like, within the bounds of... you know... surviving in capitalist society and making a living and all that, lmao.)
  14. ADHD culture is having to reread like three chapters of your own writing because you haven't worked on it in a few months and almost completely forgot about the subplot involving the protagonist being tricked into drinking human blood, which would be a bad subplot to just kind of abruptly drop

  15. Ya girl just got put on a list of """antis""", oh my god. And I've never harassed anyone and never will, but apparently having "anti-pedophilia" in my blog description is TERRIBLE and MEAN enough that they have to put me on a list of people to block, lmaooooo

  16. WHEN WILL MARVEL LET ME WRITE X-MEN

Suggestion: Everyone is aro except Gambit, whose playboy complex becomes the comic relief instead

  17. Yes. I hate the idea of performing romantic affection, and I hate the idea of being tied to one person. It sounds like psychological prison.
  18. After 11 years straight of decidedly Not caring about Yugioh, my friend convinced me to watch it easily just by telling me that Yami is voidpunk, and you know what? I don't regret it at all

  19. I understand how you feel, although I have to say I... don't really like your use of the term "normal", as much as we all feel that way sometimes. As for me, I've always been aro, and I should hope I always will be, as much as I may hate it. I'd rather die than be in a relationship tbh.
  20. Do people keep allergies all their lives, or grow out of them? Do they get better or worse? It's not something that can be applied to all of humanity. Some people's orientations change. Some people's genders change. Some people stay the same. Tell your friend to shut up and mind his own business.
  21. Sewing a dress seemed like a much simpler idea before I learned that my bust measurement is so goddamn nonexistent that every bodice sloper tutorial I've found just Cannot Compute, and it's half a fucking foot smaller than the smallest size in Otome no Sewing

      arokaladin

I normally give up on patterns half way through projects and just use parts of them as a springboard for my own ideas. Partly because I don't like working with them but also because I am teeny. short sewers unite!

  22. I was in a relationship once, when I was about 13 - 15. It was an online thing. We were both part of the same web forum, and we were really good friends who got along well and really clicked together. At some point, someone made a "platonic marriages" thread, and we were the first to get married. Somewhere along the line, people started shipping us, and one day one of us confessed, I don't remember who. From then on, we were "dating". We were really affectionate, and talked a lot about getting married IRL in the future and moving in together, and everyone thought we were just the cutest couple. We were everyone's OTP. It lasted a good long time! But gradually I realized that I didn't really like her that way. The whole thing started to feel like a drag, and I'd get so uncomfortable with things like saying "I love you" or calling each other "wife", but... I didn't say anything for a long time, because I didn't want to hurt her feelings, and I didn't want to ruin everyone's "OTP". I thought all my friends would hate me. But eventually it got to the point that I didn't like even talking to her, and I'd avoid her on purpose, so eventually I admitted the truth. Luckily, she was fine with it, and I don't remember if we told anyone else, but nobody seemed bothered anyway. It took me a long time to get comfortable with her again, but I'm happy to say we're still close friends to this day. It feels so weird looking back, tbh, but... Yeah, it was pretty miserable.
  23. God I just want people to talk to about some of my aro headcanons, but god knows aro headcanons aren't hip and trendy enough in fandoms to warrant actual discussion beyond two or three isolated aros going "I think this character should be aro"

Well... on the bright side, your pride ring would probably be hard to swallow and bad for your digestion.

  24. When I saw Psyche Corp live last year, she explained that this song is about a little kid whose parents tried to scare them into good behavior by saying "If you don't behave, the monsters will get you," but it backfired because then the kid was like "Aight so where are these monsters you promised me? Bitch I'm waiting?? Mom did you lie to me? WHERE ARE THEY" and tbh that's beautiful and absolutely an accurate depiction of how children work.
  25. Our friendship is strong but is it strong enough to withstand differing opinions on how to pronounce "Arceus"
