  1. I have probably mentioned it elsewhere recently but The Adventures of Tin Tin are action packed with comedy and mystery. I guess following the CGI kid-friendly adventure movie is Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (which was legitimately the BEST movie ever to see in 3D)
  2. that is some extreme stuff! I would rather pour stuff into a bottle using a faulty funnel than get married
  3. just like in A Song of Ice and Fire series where the author even forgot and added a phantom kiss a character misremebers an event and add in a kiss scene that didn't happen into the memory of the scene.
  4. I am so happy to see people with scores similar to mine! whee I am not that weird
  5. yeah, that seems to be fairly common. I guess that is the shipping drive kicking in? it is like the incestuous fanfics that occur when there is a close familial relationship, it seems some people see every close relationship as having romance, or they want it to have romance so much they fantasise and delude themselves, like imagining a kissing scene that doesn't occur. I guess the eyes see what the brain wants. Another movie for the list is The Adventures of TinTin gotta love TinTin for some aromantic asexual adventure
  6. or you see the beginning of someone's infatuated romantic relationship as their lives going to hell (I am feeling particularly prickly right now so all things are extremely jaded)
  7. eww. what even is that? I have no idea and it still sounds super gross. You are all lucky to have so much water around that doesn't come out of a tap. I would rather swim with seals than get married. Seals are cute so it would be fun, but around here seal colonies come with big sharks
  8. that was interesting and I think my answers are interesting, I hadn't realised that the "I'm proud of you" comment was such a turn off for me until it came up. Really I think my words of affirmation score should be 0, just because I was stuck choosing between two bad choices for a couple of statement sets. 11 Quality Time 8 Acts of Service 5 Physical Touch 4 Receiving Gifts 2 Words of Affirmation Though for quality time they say I know I show love by cooking for people so if the knife and fork go down I get distracted by thoughts of rejection, and the best quality time activity is debating documentaries and bonding over TV and movies. I'b probably get the heebie jeebies from full 100% attention with unbroken eye contact and a smile and nod reaction to my words.
  9. I think having romance repulsion is basically like being blind in a room full of furniture (for alloromantics I guess it is like being blind in a bouncy castle), it hurts or is scary when you bump into it. I guess bumping into stuff to find the edges of your repulsion is the best way to navigate the dark room of life? are my metaphors getting to weird? if you feel repulsion getting away is probably the best thing (unlike staying still and trying to ignore it to the point of having a panic flight and physically ill reaction), you can always try to identify stuff in hindsight
  10. @James you just had to say "PROSTRATE YOURSELVES BEFORE THE ALMIGHTY" and 'monolithic' in the same text wall I reply: This is romance: https://artificialorder.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/08_monolith-2.jpg
  11. wait wait, are you saying that the points I noted could occur if a complete transformation of the coordinate system was done. So the trajectory and images could be explained in a geocentric system? and yeah, I was sort of trying to ignore the general relativity, which seems to me the sort of thing like the argued definition of greysexuality by Kristina Gupta based on the Foucault work on sexual orientation labelling ultimately being a harmful form form of social control and limitation of a fluid experience.
  12. OMG yes! I have this sitting on my shelf. I loved it. So many log cakes. It is like a sweeter less insane version of Excel Saga (which I saw first so I compare everything to Excel Saga). and there is a plot! sort of. She want to go to school, she starts going to school!
  13. pretty much what @Ice Queen has said. (I use a water depth metaphor for love though) Romance - An attraction that may or may not trigger limerance. It can by itself connect two people for a period of time but it usually has an expiry, another connection must be made for a couple to stay together. Generally romance seems to require high levels of contact to be maintained/fulfilled. Romantic attraction may grow into awareness or be spontaneous, maybe - I am iffy on this point because I never felt it. Love - A bond that can take many forms and be of many depths. Though it can grow quickly it is never spontaneous, even if it seems spontaneous it is likely you already had feelings for an abstract idea that prepared you for loving something (such as with pregnant women and their subsequent baby). Love begins shallow and can grow deeper over time or stall, creating a type of love hierarchy within your life. Different loves can deepen at different speeds depending on interpersonal actions and experiences either helping or hindering the love bond. Love generally doesn't require constant contact to be maintained, allowing disparate people to still be bonded with love.
  14. WARNING this following advice is probably not helpful at all: You could relate it to the LGBT+ experience. They have to keep quiet and 'in the closet' about their beliefs or risk possible persecution. < yeah, totally not helpful. Don't say that. We can only hope! @DeltaV I was just meaning all calculations for the flight paths were based on a heliocentric model with a basically unmoving sun mass. Also contact was not significantly and unexplainably blocked at any point in the Voyager probe communications, which would have happened if the sun was passing between the probe and Earth. Light values would have also fluctuated on the photographed planets and moons if the sun had been swinging around the earth - but they didn't. Light values diminished steadily as if the sun was in a fixed place.
  15. @DeltaV I think that is the conspiracy theories our lizard overlords want us to think is the truth no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself.
  16. yeah, how would the conspiracy theorists explain the outer solar system probes (the Pioneers and Voyager probes)? some theory about 1970s photoshop?
  17. D: I have to find someone with the initials Y.W. now? that is evil Yu Wang
  18. The kids will probably be fine, they will feel confused and left out in science class when it comes up, especially if they speak up. They will also probably fail all the tests associated with the solar system, so maybe they will have to choose between grades and inflexable beliefs. Hopefully whatever school they go to has an effective anti-bullying system if they do get targeted if they do speak out. If that sort of thing happens and you still have contact with the family I guess reassuring them that the targeting is not because they are Muslim, but because they are ignoring science, which is a highly regarded collection of information in ALL western countries. I'm fairly sure most religions (Christianity, Judaism, Chinese folk religion/Taoism, the ancient Indo-European Religions such as the Roman and Greek Pantheons, Ancient Egyptian, Hinduism) had Earth as a fixed presence with the sum moving above. Really I even think the celebrated Islamic scientists of the 13th century, or before then, had the planetary orbits around the sun worked out, far before the Mediterranean and European cultures stopped punishing people for saying it. I don't know how you could help them see it differently. They would have to want to scientifically educate themselves. Change cannot be forced upon the religious, they get even more steadfast if they feel their beliefs are being undermined. I guess the main point is that, to them, their beliefs are their knowledge, they know this stuff to be true. They may understand differently in the future, but for now maybe tell them that their knowledge is different from your, and the majority population of Sweden, knowledge. And your reaction, however inadequate or bad you think your reaction was, it is probably the standard reaction they will get from other Swedish people on this topic. If the family is accepting (or at least tolerant) of different religions having a differing viewpoint shouldn't really be an issue between you as long as they understand that their view is not common (or even particularly tolerated) where they are now.
  19. YMBAI you cannot, due to lack of motivation or finesse, write romance in a story setting.
  20. Sam Worthington (getting W for you is getting hard!)
  21. still haven't seen it but I know of some fairly amazing fan art so I have put it on my 'to watch' list
  22. @sarcastic kitten kudos for using a portrait of Light M. Night Shyamalan Edition:
  23. @Zorcodtoa and don't forget The Internet to the fans:
