DannyFenton123
Of course I use it to signify when I like something, but I also like posts when it's something I agree with but I don't really have anything to add. I was just curious about what you guys use likes for
Louis On Air
I use likes when I approve with someone's wordsmith or relate to their message depending on the subject
aihpen
I like something, when I like something (obviously) or agree with something that I think is funny or important or when I can relate to something etc.
Cassiopeia
lets see: to show that I appreciate the post to show moral support (like under sad posts) to show that I agree with them "seen and understood" in case of official posts instead of quoting an writing "lol" or a smiley in response instead of quoting an writing "same" in response
Lynx
- same - I read this but have nothing to add - I read this but don't have the brainpower to respond - Something in this was hilarious
omitef
I "like" if someone made a good point, or if I agree I "like" things very liberally It's to make up for my inability to like people
46odnetnin
I like things if i like them and remember there's a button for that, and to let someone know I replied if I'm talking to them within a thread without quoting them.

paporomantic
EDIT: As the following posts where made on another thread that was similar to this, the topics have been merged. I'm really confused as to whether to do it in borderline situations, e.g. if someone makes a post about a negative event but displays a positive solution or attitude to it that I agree with; or makes a long post containing something I disagree with as well as something I like. Here are a few blog posts on the topic: What does it really mean to 'like' something on Facebook? 12 Secret Reasons Why People Like Your Posts on Social Media The 5 Reasons Why You Like Someone’s Post On Facebook I wish there was a neutral 'I've read it' button (it's sometimes useful for people to know that I've read their content, like mods' announcements, even when I don't want to express my attitude to it). Rising Sun
I "like" something when i globally agree with it, or when I find the message interesting, nice or it makes me think. I don't think too much about it. I really appreciate the feature.
RedNeko
I swear there's a thread on here somewhere where people say what they use the forum's like button for, but I'm too tired to go find it.
paporomantic
Indeed, there is. Thanks for telling me, @RedNeko! @DannyFenton123 or @Tal Shi'ar or whatever mod, please merge this thread with that one, TIA!
