Quinoa Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Hi everyone! I'm known as Quinoa in the ace/aro community. I first realized I was asexual about 3 1/2 years ago and realized I was aromantic a year later. I have been active on AVEN but realizing more and more that my aromanticism affects many aspects of my life. Since AVEN is focused on asexuality, and most asexuals aren't aromantic, I thought I would check out an aro community as well.
PerformativeSurprise Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Welcome, Quinoa! I know what you mean. I'm also aro ace, and I have been on AVEN for a while too, but I feel like being aro affects my life more than being ace honestly. It's nice having a space for aros to connect Hope you enjoy it here!
DannyFenton123 Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Welcome to Arocalypse! I've also been on AVEN, but like you I don't feel like I identify as ace as much as aro. Hope to see you around!
Quinoa Posted May 27, 2016 Author Posted May 27, 2016 Thanks guys! To me, my asexuality affects how I experience the world more (like there is a sixth sense everyone else has), but my aromanticism affects my goals and how I want my life to look in the future more.
Louis On Air Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Well welcome to the strongest community on the inter web that will be stopped by nothing in our quest to slay the dragon of amatonormativity
owl Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Welcome to Arocalypse! Hope you enjoy our little community
aihpen Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Welcome Quinoa! I'm here basically for the same reason. AVEN is just not the perfect place to discuss aromanticism, it's way too focused on asexuality for that. It's just nicer to have a separate forum for it and I personally really enjoy it so far. I hope you will too Also your username is delicious.
