  1. A) So if a lesbian was in a relationship with a man or gay man was in a relationship with a woman in the past, does that invalidate them being a lesbian or being a gay man? B) You did decide to be single. So did I. So does everyone who chooses not to pursue a relationship. What does that have to do with being or not being aromantic? C) So are aros who feel some level of romantic attraction and/or date also invalid, then? What does the definition of aromantic have to do with dating or not? I didn't say they were. I said they could coexist. They are not exclusive concepts.
  2. Sure, why wouldn't it be? I say this a lot, but why does this have to be an either/or situation? What if you let both things be true? Yes, you have found the place where a lot of people are going to be able to relate to your experiences. =)
  3. Gonna be blunt as a caedromantic: Functionally: what's the difference? Is aro a useful term for you? If yes, use it. If no, don't. Identity isn't about the WHY. It's about HOW you feel. And a label doesn't have to be useful to you forever. If aro is useful to you now but later (through whatever reasons), it's no longer applicable - then you just stop using it and use the term(s) that are useful to you. And yes, that also means: it's fine if you aren't ready to ID as aro even if maybe you technically fit the definition. If alloro makes you feel better right now, then identify that way. Don't get hung up on technicalities. Do what feels right to you. Identity isn't about being correct or incorrect. It's just about you having a simple way to quickly communicate to others the gist of your feelings. That's it. So do what feels right to you.
  4. No need to apologize. I just wanted to understand. =) Aesthetic attraction is an attraction to a person based on appreciating the appearance/beauty of another person. Finding someone good looking but not sexy. Similar to admiring a painting. For some people, these feelings are strong enough to categorize as an attraction, whereas others might find others good looking but not in a way that feels like an attraction to them.
  5. I'm not sure what you mean. Could you give an example of what you're thinking of? Sure, you can identify as whatever you want. Is that a useful label to you? Do you want to use it? Then do it! Identity isn't about following rules. It's about following your heart. You might also be interested in "oriented aroace" which means that you're aroace but experience another type of attraction that is strong enough you wish to label it. Some people just identify as "oriented aroace". Some identify more specifically like "bi aroace" or possibly "bi oriented aroace". Or you could identify exactly as you've described here: "[biaesthetic] aroace". It's up to you.
  6. Ooh, awesome choice! I hope he keeps his word. :)

  8. There is no way to diagnose yourself with an identity. Sometimes you clearly know. Other times, you don't. Identity is subjective and completely self-determined. You don't have to know to identify a certain way. And you don't have to use a label forever just because you tried it out for a while. That's a part of exploration: playing around with labels and identities and looks and boundaries and figuring out what makes you comfortable. It sounds like you are doing some good thinking about what you do and don't feel and what you do and don't want. That's the important stuff to figure out. Way more meaningful than some simplified word to describe yourself. =)

      Thanks a lot :)

  10. Happy birthday!!! šŸŽ‚šŸŽˆšŸŽ My personal advice is to avoid big scary emotional things with potential negative consequences like coming out on important days/days with positive connotations to you (like a birthday might have). You just don't need that stress on a day that's supposed to be about celebrating you. I would save it for a more neutral time in general. Come out when you want and when it feels right to you. You got this.
  11. More experimentation! More flexibility! More letting yourself explore self-discovery! Yes, these are the ways. Follow what makes you happy. =)
  12. You might be different, but I have trouble studying in silence. However, if I put on music with lyrics, I tend to get distracted by the lyrics, so I like to put on instruments or look up "study beta/binural beats" to play in the background. Also, if you have trouble getting distracted by apps and social media, there's a lot of apps and addons/extension out there to help with this.
  13. I am but a simple person happy to stan hardest for the main character, lol. Anne is great! I love her compassion, dedication, and sense of righteousness and justice. And yet she's still a teenager dealing with immaturity and learning who she is and who she wants to be. Domino 2 is also great and just a lot of fun. Hmm. Least favorite character is hard, though! It definitely changed over the seasons as more and more were revealed about the different characters. I guess by the end, I would just go with the original Big Bad: King Aldrich.
  14. What happens if you try to talk about something else, like a tv show, music, reminiscing about fun times, politics, sports, etc.? Personally, I've always just kinda sat back during those conversations and let other people doing the talking.
