I'm 12, almost 13, and I am trying to find other people my age who are on the aro spectrum to talk to on this forum about being a young aro

Three aro things happened to me today:
1. In PE, our teacher said to split into two teams; 'crunchy bar' and 'aero bar'. ANd he said 'Aeros come over here', and I muttered under my breath 'I'm double aro now'
2. In Dance (our assesment) my friend said 'we're going to ace this' and I very much agreed
3. We were talking about relationships at lunch and I said 'nah I'm going to be single with cats' and my friend said 'you might be ace' and I put my finger to my lips and nodded very slightly and she smilied at me and I smiled back at her. She's the first one in my friend group to work it out! YAY

I ripped the paper off a badge and drew an aroace flag on it

We were talking about dating and marriage in food tech today, and when I said I don't want to get married, I was told 'my cousin said that, and she got married' and later (by the same person) 'that's a mental illness. This is one of my FRIENDS
I hate when people say 'oh, you can't be this, because this person I know isn't'. I'm not the person you know! I'm me! And also, since when is not wanting to date or get married a mental illness? huh? it doesn't make sense!

One of the ways I worked out I was aroace was memes. I kinda thought 'oh, I might be aroace' and I love memes, and most of them felt like they were taken straight from my brain. Anyone got any good ones?

I know loads of people have said this already, but Jaiden Animations I saw her video, and about 2 years later realised I was ace and I watch it like every two days to remind myself that I am not the only aroace person haha

I was at swimming and a friend said 'who's your crush'
And I have never had a crush
SO I said that
And she said 'okaay' like she didn't believe me
And my brain was going 'aroace aroace'
And I said 'idk it's weird, but i am immune to romance. and I have the vaccine.' and swum off

i do rock climbing (well actually bouldering) and swimming, both of which are two of the most innaccesible sports, I have to go to swimming pools and climbing gyms

I might get a laptop in a month or so! I am a massive minecraft nerd so I would LOVE to join an aspec/allies server (literally internally screaming with excitement right now) (also my gamertag is PixelSE46 on bedrock edition so will try to use that on Java, reply if anyone wants to be friends on bedrock?) I don't have any aro/ace friends -

In PSHE, when learning about sexual orientation, our teacher identified aromantic and asexual wrong, and grouped them together, and didn't say there was a spectrum. It was just "not attracted to anyone" end of story and I was fuming and trying to hint that I was aro but nobody realised

How do you show aro pride?

I'm not out so I tend to wear bracelts that I make with purple and green becuase I'm aroace and then if anyone asks what it is I say football team/school etc but if they specifically ask about aroace then I tell them I have a mood ring that doesn't really work so that's my black ring, but I don't have a white one unfortunately -
I tend to just read ships between charecters I'm interested in, I don't actually ship them but it makes for good reading. Actually being in a relationship or being shipped? Prepare the quick exit trapdoor/hole in the ground

I'm trying to initiate a conversation with my younger sister by subtely showing her youtube videos etc with aroace topics or mentions, so that if she asks, I can tell her. Thanks for the advice!

It's incredibly disconcerting when you get the same "symptoms" as a crush but with someone you just want to be best friends with. It's terrifying!

I am almost 14 and I discovered the terms Aromantic and Asexual around 2 years ago. A few months ago I began to realise that they applied to me. I am out to one random person, who was shipping me with someone as a joke, so I told them about my orientation to make them stop. However, I have never talked to other aros/aces before. When I realised I was aromanitic, it was becuase people were talking about celebrity crushes, and they asked me about mine. I said none, and they looked at me strangely. I didn't know anyone my age could even get crushes, but then I find it hard to think of anyone ever crushing on anyone. Questions for aros/aces if anyone wants to answer 1.
