  1. Sounds to me like that kid needs some help themself- Associating sex with normalcy and self-worth, especially at a young age, is pretty unhealthy. Fucked up thing to say to someone, but definitely pretty telling. I hope people start treating you better and I hope that kid can unlearn their toxic social values before it lands them in trouble.
  2. Um… This is a little bit TMI. You might want to use a content warning and spoiler tag for some of the more personal details.
  3. You can be worth something and be important to someone without a romantic relationship. Part of it is having good friends, and part of it is not getting trapped in the “no one can ever love me for real” mindset (I’ve been there). Know your self-worth and eventually other people will know your worth too.
  4. Medieval Italian war combat, and fighting games. Not that I’m exactly tournament level, but I can hold my own against your average player in most fgs.
  5. Well, there’s Never Been in Love by Will Jay. For allo aros specifically, I like Body Talks by the Struts ft. Ke$ha, and Chemical Love by Kevin and Cherry.
  6. Ace and Aro Journeys is TAAAP’s book. It was in development for several years, so I’m proud that it’s finally published :)
  7. I mean, yeah. I also have opinions on the right answer to questions like "should women be allowed to vote," that doesn't mean it's not a ridiculous topic to be bringing up lmfao
  8. Oh my god don't y'all be starting the whole "can QPRs involve sex" discourse again in 2023 my allo aro ass has had enough
  9. Why is it the last day? Did something happen?
  10. It’s not a QPR unless you and the other person involved have explicitly agreed to call it a QPR. The only thing that makes it a QPR is labeling it as such.
  11. Um… We have an entire week, actually. It’s in February.
  12. Makes sense- You’re Mormon, right? Unfortunately the LDS church has a reputation for not really socializing with folks of other religions, from what I’ve heard. :( But it’s great that you want to learn more! In my hometown and the surrounding area I know of many churches of various denominations and languages, a Hindu temple, a few synagogues (Jewish places of worship) and mosques (Muslim places of worship), I think there might be a Buddhist temple around somewhere? And a few different pagan groups that meet in various places. I actually grew up in a UU church, and we did a lot of events with other local religious groups. They also had a program when I was a kid where when the kids were about 12 or 13, they’d spend a few weeks visiting other places of worship; They’d take part in the services and then stay afterwards for a talk with that group’s religious leaders, to answer questions and give the rundown on what their religion is about and what they did during the service. When I participated we went to a Catholic church, a mosque, a Hindu temple, and a synagogue. It was a lot of fun! I think more religions should have little exchange programs like that.
  13. Unitarian Universalism is an American religion that started as a denomination of Christianity... Although I think there might be some in other countries, but it started here, in Boston. America really isn't as religiously homogenous as you think- You just need to get outside your community more. :) Which is totally understandable! But you shouldn't assume that any time someone talks about a religion other than yours, they're talking about another country. We are your neighbors, you just need to step outside and look around.
  14. Huh, I’d think more often they wouldn’t be Christian, since only a few denominations actually have priests. I usually associate the term “priest” more with non-Christian religions. Interesting.
  15. Not Christian, but when it comes to organized pagan groups, most are pretty accepting. There’s also a lot of priestesses in various types of paganism.
  16. You don’t need to use a label if they don’t feel right. You’ll probably figure it out eventually one way or another.
  17. I love seeing all the different kinds of clothes people wear. Fashion is such a cool way to express yourself and have fun, so I'm curious what other people here like to wear. Tell me about your style! For me, I'm part of the goth and punk subcultures, so a lot of what I wear is influenced by that. But I also like to dress elegant sometimes- In particular I like to wear lolita fashion (mostly gothic or classic). I'd say my most commonly worn day-to-day outfits consist of some sort of black skirt (usually knee length or above, with bike shorts or leggings underneath depending on the weather), and a graphic tee, sometimes in a contrasting color. I almost always wear coordinated earrings and some sort of hair accessory or hat. I also like to do brightly colored eye makeup in a traditional goth or punk style.
  18. Sure. I used to be a lot more insecure, especially in the heyday of """"ace discourse"""" in the mid-2010s, but now I'm kinda old and jaded (well. I'm 25 so I'm still young lol, but yknow what I mean). I'm here, I'm queer, I've got better things to do than worry about people hmphing about other people's identities.
  19. That's not a very nice thing to say... It's totally ok to not be interested in that sort of thing, but remember that other people are. You don't need to call it "filthy garbage", especially when a lot of people (especially queer people) are shamed or even killed for their sexuality. Also you should probably install an ad blocker.
  20. Huh? Wasn't that movie Dreamworks? I mean, I was a fan of the books, so I didn't like the movies, but I could have sworn it was Dreamworks... Also a remake of Hunchback of Notre Dame is WILD considering the um. everything in that movie. Like the fact that the original even exists at all is ridiculous enough. It's a good movie in a lot of ways, but like... Not to be all "you couldn't make this movie today!" but frankly I don't think you should make that movie today good lord. Everything about it is sooooooooooo. um. something
