  1. Angels of Death, the RPG. I watched the Netflix anime, now I play the game. Oh yeah, did I mention that I have a GeForce RTXโ„ข 3090 Ti... that I bought it at the height of the semiconductor shortage. What a WASTE. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Ok, seriously, aside from its "technical limitations", this game is great.
  2. we just recently had potato salad... anyways... yum! Potato Sauerkraut Casserole?
  3. There's nothing right now this world needs more than PEACE โ˜ฎ๏ธ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ. PS: Yeah, I'm not naive. I still blame Putin and his lackeys for the war 150%.
  4. very "classic": Peter Pan (1953) it's just the greatest IMHO, unsurpassed
  5. Don't stress. Looking forward to it! ๐Ÿ™‚
  6. Sorbet is very simple and has only three ingredients: water + sugar + fruit. You just need to get the sugar / water ratio correct. Ice cream OTOH is with ... duh, cream (or substitute). There is no way vanilla sorbet would work... ๐Ÿ˜† In those cases I use cashew paste and coconut milk instead for 100% non-dairy ice cream. And it's even easier: no separating eggs or having to watch the temperature so it does not curdle. Anyway my favorite ice cream is vegan mint chocolate stracciatella, because it (a) tastes great (b) is something unique and (c) is SO ARO.
  7. For whatever reasons romantic love has this tendency to give rise to completely ridiculous and utterly pointless traditions that also harm the environment. I'd like to see the employment ad... "Lock Cutter (female / male / diverse). Employer: Municipal Works of Paris. Description: All over the world our city of Paris is known as the capital of love. But this reputation comes with some costs..." Yeah, that's absurd. I mean... what? Some stranger doesn't reciprocate your romantic advances? And then the right reaction is ... crying? Even for a 15 y/o I find this highly immature... anyway, it's always interesting to learn what kind of crazy people really exist. I'm a "good bit older" but it never happened to me that someone started crying just because I shot down their attempts. How uncomfortable this must be...
  8. Most people don't know the extent of shunning in the JW Org. Like that it is applied even to family members. I'm always amazed how positive JWs are still regarded. At most people think it's just another high-control group with some cooky and bigoted beliefs. But in reality JWs are way worse. They rival Scientology. In fact, while Scientology tries to suck you dry financially, they aren't against you getting life-saving treatments. PS: never was part of that club but had friends in the ORG. This is kind of funny, you made it to a storybook apostate. Once a JW told me about Satanic influences in ... Mulan. The Disney movie. I could not believe it. So I'd like to see their reaction to Aleister Crowley. ๐Ÿ˜†
  9. Aro Stellaris... Arocratic Star Empire of Quiver ๐Ÿน Home planet: Quiver (yeah, this is Earth, after it was renamed) Star system: Aronia (sounds way cooler than "Sol system", right?) Founding species: Aros (ok, these are humans. But all humans became aro for unknown reasons, and so they started to call themselves Aros. Romantic love now has become long forgotten. There are still some surviving texts from the era when humans were romantic, but Aro archeologists simply cannot understand them. Maybe it has something to do with this mysterious dragon....) Flavor text: Since time immemorial, this civilization has shared its star system with a formidable dragon. The mysterious creature's behavior sways between distant benevolence and haughty indifference. How this relationship will evolve as the planet dwellers take to the stars remains to be seen. PS: yeah, I admit it, I threw too much of my hard earned money into the throat of Paradox Interactive. I indeed own ALL Stellaris DLCs.
  10. Didn't know this meme. Yeah, this Cosplayer just nails it. He looks so cute. 100% Felix. Except for one detail: Felix would NEVER say "I'm Felix". ๐Ÿ˜บ So it seems Felix is well-known beyond fans of the anime / manga. Is the same true for ... Astolfo?๐Ÿ˜‰ At first it was Gender 3D Chess, now it's Gender Machiavelli... ๐Ÿ™ƒ if you can pull that off, all those machinations, more power to you. The people who hold those stereotypes had it coming. But I imagine it to be a bit... taxing. And ... another point, which should be interpreted as a plain statement of fact and not as a moral judgement: many people want to be cared for or respected as the person they truly are. For me, if I cannot open up to someone, because my gender expression is too masculine, then I personally would not want this person's "empathy". If I'm not respected, just because my gender expression is too feminine, then I do not care about this "respect". FO, done! As a grumpy old agender person I see all the yang wans talking about stuff like "aesthetics", which I don't understand. I looked it up on Wiki and now I'm prepared to make a dad joke: Maybe your aesthetic is ... don't-care-core?
  11. yum (only know the vegan version) Wild Garlic Soup?
  12. I don't want to leave the impression that I'm against anyone trying such methods. I just found the whole idea a bit far fetched.
  13. For example, in anime it's more permitted for "femboys" (I hope that word is ok) to express their feelings and also exhibit other stereotypical female characteristics beyond their looks, like being "weak" (in the sense of lacking combat prowess). E. g. Felix "Ferris" Argyle from Re:Zero โ€“ Starting Life in Another World looks/acts very feminine and cute, never uses male pronouns or the name "Felix", and serves as a personal knight, but is not very impressive with their sword. Instead they're one of the greatest healers of the kingdom. Gender is usually regarded as a self-identity. But it is only the gender as assumed by others that has social consequences. If some dude thinks Miley Cyrus and Cara Delevingne are hot, this doesn't trigger any deep soul-searching in him: "Am I really straight?" Because though the gender (self-id) is NOT "female" for those two, the ASSUMED gender is. So if a non-binary person is assumed to be / regarded as male and therefore held in contempt for expressing their feelings, trying to appear more feminine will likely not make the situation better. Now even if you are some kind of human chameleon (like the famous Callidus assassins from Warhammer 40K) and can change your gender expression very convincingly, i. e. the assumed gender is always how YOU chose it, people are still going to remember you! And this strongly restricts the potentials of this gender 3D chess.
  14. Gender 3D chess? What you describe sounds like how gender theoretically should work, if it had any internal logic. But how it does not actually work. You must live in a very strange place, where many Anime gender tropes have become real. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  15. You stopped the thread with this one. Never tried it. Never even seen it before. Elderflower cordial?
  16. When we started with electrostatics my physics teacher suddenly said "Ok, for the next experiment we need the cat". And I just wondered "Oh cat, cute! What... cat?". And it turned out that the "cat" was actually a cat pelt. ๐ŸฅบYes, seriously. To make it worse, she made "meow meow" noises while taking out that pelt. So half of the class is like "Ohh nooo, that poor cat" and the other half is like rolling on the floor laughing. And she: "How old are you? Don't be so sentimental, that's ridiculous." ๐Ÿ˜ So that made me really angry, like as if having some empathy for animals is immature (especially considering the context of this very immature joke).
  17. I did, quite a few times. It belongs to the "hiding behind satire to spew a barrage of obnoxious 'jokes'" category.
  18. Romantic orientation. It's "mu" (็„ก) aka "not there". Sexual orientation is rather:โ“โ“
  19. YES, and it's not even about armchair diagnosis. Quite a few users here mentioned mental health professionals who pathologized their aromanticism. But still... strictly speaking your answer is off-topic. This is quite different from a major national or sub-national organization of psychology / psychiatry to declare aromanticism a mental disorder. Most likely this TikToker pushed a hoax. But behind every good hoax, there's a kernel of truth. Certainly true here!
  20. There is no text from 1990 and certainly not 1890 which uses the word "aromantic" (if you still see that word, it's a typo). But of course "aromanticism" can be described in other ways. We all know those lists of "strange laws" (though many are hoaxes or misunderstandings). So there is some small probability that in a random country at one time they put something vaguely like "aromanticism is a mental illness" in an official document. I wouldn't bother. Speculation is useless without a source. It could be 100% made up. Or perhaps in some Californian institutions they used a point scoring test for psychiatric diagnoses and there's one point of 50 that's about not having romantic relationships. Some overenthusiastic aro stumbles upon this and hypes it up to "Californa labeled aromanticism a mental illness" clickbait.
  21. Yes, yes. I just found your reaction funny. As if this was the first movie that glosses over totally inexcusable stuff the protagonists do... and you: "Hooold on, that endangers innocent people!" Since Lara Croft is supposed to be much nicer than the characters in Fast & Furious (who are still portrayed as "lovable rogues"), she only does illegal BICYCLE racing. If something goes wrong, at least she just kills a pensioner, and not a family of five. Ok, b2t, my humor is a bit twisted...
  22. Of course it is, I don't condone it. It's illegal street racing for people who don't own a car. Which is also glorified in movies to no end. I just know what cycling in a large city means and so this scene was very scary for me.
  23. ๐Ÿ˜จ The London bicycle chase was legitimately the scariest part of the whole movie.
  24. Yes, but it would be quite an exceptional 8 year old who knows and understands asexuality / aromanticism. So in practice, I don't think "too young to know" is a huge issue.
