You might be aro if the idea of having a relationship has never crossed your mind.

The freedom of being able to do whatever I want whenever I want without having to take in consideration someone else's opinion. I just live 100% for me and only me.

Thank you that is great to know that some therapist are so open minded about aromanticism. Hopefully one day everyone will hear about it too and we will finally be understood.

I also find it very hard that people don't know about aromanticism because not knowing that it exists they make you feel that you are not normal and they make pressure on you because they don't accept that we don't have romantic attraction, this need to be in a relationship. They say there is something wrong with you, you should see someone to talk about it, you don't want to be happy... It hurts so much that people don't accept you the way you are because you are not in the norms of the society. It hurts that they don't understand that you don't want any of this, that you don't feel the need of it. Life can be tough when you are aromantic. Sorry for my english I havn't practise for a while.

I am so happy to be free to do whatever I want whenever I want. If any great opportunity comes on my way I don't have to take somebody else's opinion and I can just go for it without any feeling of culpability. I can live 100% for myself, some people may see it as egoism but I don't care. Having the life I want to have and being able to do everything I can to have it is what makes me happy and maybe I wouldn't have the freedom to do it if I had to take somebody else's opinion in consideration. So being aromantic is just awesome ?

As a kid I wasn't thinking about all this at all. As a teenager in junior high and in highschool I was the only one who wasn't interested in having a boyfriend. I really didn't get why people wanted a relationship so young. I thought that it would maybe change growing up but it didn't.

I have never been interested in relationships and never understood why people so need to be in a relationship to be "happy" as they say. I only find out about aromantism recently because in France we don't even know that word. And now I finally know what I am and it is such a relief to be able to put a word on it even if being labelled is not important to me. I am also glad to have find this forum because I don't have any aroace or just aro around me. I so feel like you there is nothing about aromantism in my country too (or about asexuality actually) and I would love to get to know some aropeople too, make friends, share things. I identify myself more as an aro than a asexual even if I know that I am asexual too. I am lucky that my best friend understands that I am aro and accept it but all the others don't and it is not always easy. I want the world to know about aromantism!!!

I am vegetarian but eat often vegan. It is not easy to find vegan option everywhere so i still have to take vegetarian option sometimes

Being in a relationship has never interested me and I have never been in love. Always felt different from everyone especially as most people don't understand this lack of interest in love.
