I just came out to my dad as trans he didn’t react well, he came back drunk and said I would always be his little girl. I want to cry I wish I had better parents.

Oh boy that blows! I agree with the sentiments and thoughts already mentioned.
Bottom line, find your tribe, and remember family doesn’t have to be by blood / bio relations. If things get real bad there are people outside family who will love and support who YOU are! Its frustrating when families love their idea of us more than the reality of us! The reality is more real by definition, ugggg!!

I know that when I come out, I’ll be asking my mom for a name- mainly because ik she hates the name I choose, and it’s my brother's middle name XD
I might not use the name she gives me but I’ll probably put it in my legal name.
It’s totally up to you what you wanna do. Maybe make a list of the pros and cons that you can think of? Best of luck!!!

@Arsenic I'm worried they won't like the name so I'm thinking about asking them for one but I really like my name so I'm kinda struggling with the ideia

My friend, it is YOUR name. You are the one who will have to use it, not them. You are the one who has to like it, not your parents. You are Jackson, aren't you? If they don't like, then they will have to get used to it. It would be ridiculous if you were the one who had to get used to a new name chosen by others.
I say this because this happened to me. I am in love with my name, but my parents didn't like it. They would have wanted me to be Alex instead of Nick, and I tried to make them happy by using the name they wanted, but I regretted a few days later and had an anxiety attack because I was so upset and angry and sad with myself. I talked to my parents and explained the situation to them, and now they are getting used to call me Nick.
You like your name? Then there is nothing more to discuss. You are Jackson, and that's all.
