ok, final chage of today. I am making this theme the new default dark theme. please keep letting me know where there are problems and i will try to improve it, but seeing as this has been regarded as an improvement I think it is good to make this the new standard.

fantastic I'm pretty much the same. 10/11 and 17/18 look fine. probably best to avoid christmas eve or new years eve although i havent yet got anything planned. To give other people here a bit more detail. one suggestion was jackbox. https://www.jackboxgames.com/ for those who dont know, computer+phone group party games, theres a lot of them but the gist is some form of prompt, e.g. question, thing to draw, sentance to finish in a funny way, etc. which each player does using their phone. followed by marking that prompt, e.g. by correct answer to trivia, voting on who is funnier, etc. I dont know if anything will come from it but one possibility was that AUREA have used an aro themed quiplash before in one of their fundraisers. If we can get the custom prompt code that might be an option.

cold war uk government builds a big bunker in case the country gets nuked costs a lot of money to maintain, as the soviets dont nuke the uk the government sell the land back to the owners. eventually the family who bought it back open the old site as a tourist attraction/filming location. because of that it needs signs to direct you to the bunker, which look absolutely fantastic.

this has nothing to do with dark mode but while i was fiddling about i found how to add a font change option to the toolbar i may regret this but lets leave that lying around for a while

thank you, and no worries about the header, it gets done when it gets done. hmm, this is interesting. in both the difference is the same (a set link colour but unread is made bold) but it does seem easier to notice with the old light blue colour than with the new white. i will have a try with a few different colours and see what i can do with this. current attempt, lets see what green looks like. yes that is possible. i have tried to avoid doing anything more complicated than colour changing at the moment but it might require something like that thank you. there was a previous dark mode but all of the themes had problems in the transition between me and the previous forum owner so most of the fault of dark mode was with me doing a quick and dirty almost copy of the previous version which worked with the version of invision the forum uses. there were a lot of bits i missed (in particular i never copied over some of the custom css work done before and a few bits of header code ec which made old dark mode better. As an example this is why the searchbar was white (old dark mode did have the blacked out search bar). speaking of which, that works now. search bar on dark mode is no longer a big white blob.

Hello recently in general site suggestions a very good point was raised about dark theme being poor quality. I have put in a second dark theme currently called dark green testbed, this way we can play about with things without breaking the current theme for those who use it. I would be very happy if people here took a look and gave feedback on what needs to be changed to make it better. current changes: header text is changed to grey rather than dark blue so it is clearer same with dark text in section headings, blue/black text replaced with grey background darkened in both header and forum sections (makes the new grey text show up) pure white text replaced with light grey where found comment count background darkened things i know need fixing but not sure how yet: searchbar being a big white blob text editing options looking weird on the dark background
