Is cheesecake cake? Answer here! The next person must say why you are wrong, define what a cake is, and say whether cheesecake is cake.

Cheesecake is cake because it says it in the name

I want to say cheesecake is a cake because it is my favorite type of cake, but realistically I do not think it is, it fits the definition of a tart better

To me it's cake because in my head all cakes, pies and tarts are called cake. Except for small cakes, those are muffins. And muffins include cupcakes. I'm a simple person with simple vocabulary

Here people often call yogurt cake "cheesecake". It's very much like ordinary cake except that it has added yogurt or cottage cheese in the batter, and it has a light texture. It has nothing to do with pie.
