I think the true population of aroace people is 0.2% of the world population so that means roughly 16 million aroace world wide which means around a 1 in 500 chance to meet an aroace person.

I think it’s like how when you are doing something you like to do, like playing a game, and you want to do more of that thing, but for people, but I’m probably the worst person to ask for this.

What I mean is that in my experience when I come out to my any friends that experience romantic and sexual attraction they tend to socialize with me a lot less and when they do, half of the time they just ask how in the world I am repulsed by “something as natural as romance and sex” which makes me want to cut ties with them. I do have like three allo friends (allo is a shortened word for allosexual/alloromantic which means one who experiences those types of attraction) who are actually fine with me being repulsed by romance and sex which is nice, so I know that there are people out there who are fine with me being repulsed by romance and sex.

I would say yes from my perspective because aromanticism and asexuality are not heteronormative in most cases and are not amatonormative which means that we are included in pride (as pride is for anyone who is not heterosexual/monogamous/cisgender) but we are gate-kept far too often even by other aros or aces, and a far too large portion of those gatekeepers are from the lgbtqia+ community themselves. So do I fell like we belong there? Yes. Do I feel like we are welcome? Barely ever, if ever.
