    My friend is feeling bad that her boyfriend is not well and doesn't want to get help. He's saying it's just part of his personality. I don't think he's being reasonable at all, even things that are part of ones personality can be addressed in ways that help you cope with them.

      I've been on that ride. You can't help someone who doesn't want it. If the situation is hurting your friend in some way, such as causing her undue stress, the best thing she can do may be to walk away.
