I really try to make it clear when I talk to people about this that asexuality and aromanticism do NOT necessarily go together--even though I happen to be both. I do think people assume I'm aro because I'm ace, which is right in my case, but not always.

I have never been in a relationship, but I came kind of close once! This was with my infamous "bad apple" who had a crush on me and was trying to convince me that something was wrong with me. Fortunately, I didn't get into a relationship with him, because even aside from me being aro, that probably would NOT have been a healthy relationship!

I'm not sure if I want children, but I can't imagine a scenario where it would fit with my life. If I'm on my own, that would mean they would have to go to daycare whenever I'm working, and I just don't know if that's the kind of childhood I would want for my kids.

My family is very supportive! I think it helped that I have a genetic disease, so they knew I wouldn't have biological children anyway.
