Same thing happens when you say to someone “I’m aromantic.”  They hear “I’m a romantic.”  It’s actually a horrible label for a person because it’s always going to be heard incorrectly.

My best friend was worried that I would stop spending time with him if I was in a relationship - and that's why I spontaneously came out to him as asexual (I didn't know about the split attraction model yet :facepalm:).

Well ... now it's some months later and guess who's in a relationship now?

Ironically I'm even happy for him because I know it's very important to him.

I act. The last two roles I have played not only had a love interest but being with their love interests was central to their story line.

Someone told me the character was perfect for me to play.
