  1. I cut myself off from my friends. I love them too much for my own good. They're leaving my school next year. It would have hurt me so much if I had let myself get any closer to them. So why do I feel so bad?

Better to have loved and lost than never to love at all 💚

Cool! Why do you feel it was better?

  3. JUST FINISHED MY PRESENTATION 🔥 I have over 50 slides. Send help.

Try it out on someone you know so that you can get some feedback and know what slides to cut. Normally the rule of thumb is about a minute per slide. But if you have lots of pictures only they can go faster

  4. Man, what happened to High School being "The best years of your life"?

I feel like whoever said this must have had a miserable adulthood. I find adulthood to be great. I'm such a better person now in my thirties then I ever was as a teen or even in my twenties.

  5. I want to watch heartstopper but I don't have Netflix currently. It feels disrespectful to pirate it, but also it feels silly to resubscribe to Netflix when I already have several shows to be watched on my current subscription apple tv. #norealproblems 😄

Mhm a third option! I've seen some panels shared online and they don't really spark my interest but thanks for the tip.

  6. I found this very interesting:

"Dreams about lost things and other minor disasters may give us some kind of competitive advantage. A study in Consciousness and cognition in 2014 looked at students about to take a high-stakes exam. The students who had the most intense stress dreams the night before the exam — often involving lost things, lateness, or, in one memorable case, being handed a slice of bread instead of the exam paper — ended up getting higher grades. The researchers told the Guardian they believe this is something called threat simulation theory, in which brains rehearse all the things that can go wrong to help us cope when they do. So when you dream of forgetting your pen and your pants on the day of an important exam, your brain's gearing up to help you deal with something stressful. "

Some consolation if we're having stress dreams

No why would it matter if they knew the city? There are around a million people here, depending on how one counts. The only reason I don't share my identity on here is I think it's nice to have an anonymous place to post that people who interact with me in real life couldn't find.

What kind of qpr dreams do you have?

My username is Swedish and it means islet dweller. I use it because I live in Stockholm which in Swedish means log islet. It's named because the original town was just the islet https://images.app.goo.gl/eewJqHw4taQjwsKz8 now is the old town.

You see! It's already happening. The Swedish one is called A Man Called Ove in English.

Yes it feels treasonous somehow. There's very little Swedish media that is known abroad so a man called Ove is one of the few potentials of having foreigners ever see a Swedish movie. If there's an American remake many readers are probably more likely just to see that one. So I don't think we should support it financially.

Now if the adaptation was flawed I could be up for a remake. For example with The girl with the dragon tattoo I thought the Swedish version was a bit lacking so I enjoyed the remake. But with a man called Ove it's a great adaptation. I suppose the cat doesn't look scrawny enough but from the poster that seems to not have been remedied 😄

  10. My friend is feeling bad that her boyfriend is not well and doesn't want to get help. He's saying it's just part of his personality. I don't think he's being reasonable at all, even things that are part of ones personality can be addressed in ways that help you cope with them.

      @Ikarus
hehe in this case it was very personal. But other times I usually just maybe listen for a short time to a podcast while fixing a cup of tea.

Yeah I get that. I don't even have children or spouse and I still prefer to not work from home. But there are some advantages.

      Just Eurovision song contest. ?

Sweden won the jury vote but then only got in sixth because of low popular vote. It was so tense! We thought we might win.

I haven't seen it yet but one of my friends wanted to treat me to a ticket as a thanks. I'm kinda hesitant about if I'll like it, but oh well, it seems like the most promising options compared to the alternatives.

  16. Not sure there are other karateka here, but I'm just really uncontainably excited that the kata (a series of moves kind of like a dance but with punching) I am slated to learn soon is the one Rika Usami performed when she won world championships - Chatanyara Kushanku. I have a soft spot in my heart for that kata because I've seen the recording so so many times to cheer myself up. :) Edit: Here is the recording: https://youtu.be/iiiznDpoapQ
