I wish the aro community extended grace, patience and support to ppl in abusive relationships instead of either ignoring its existence or telling the victim to "just leave"

  me watching the community yelling about being anti-amatonormitivity, then turning around and laughing at DV victims who are simply unable to just walk out for various reasons (disabled people are the biggest victims and often physically & financially rely on abusive partners / caregivers, many cannot simply leave)

  It's really terrible, and I don't understand the behaviour at all. It's like those people think that being Aro means they can just suddenly stop caring about people struggling with romantic issues?? "Oh, I don't understand it so I'm just gonna make fun of you lol", bro I have trouble understanding it as well but I'm not gonna vocalise that to the person struggling with an abusive/toxic relationship, they need nothing but support and kindness.
