How to flirt as an aro-ace person?

So I've found a fellow aro-ace that I am interested in for a QPR.  I don't know them as well as I'd like yet, so I don't feel I am ready to ask them out at this time.  However, I am very much interested in them and would like to hint at my interest.  Also, this person has a brain difference that makes close relationships harder and I don't want this to be scary for them.  So, how do I indicate interest without actually asking them out?

Be kind, ask them about their interest and hobbies in a subtle way and share your interests. Be nice... I don't know what more could I say.

No idea about flirting. I apparently do that sometimes and look back thinking I was just having a nice chat.

Just talk to them I guess. Take an interest in what they are interested in and slowly build your way into their life.
