  1. There's no 'aroace privilege' and saying that aroaces are privileged is aphobic. The only thing is visibility – aroaces are more visible than other arospec persons and it doesn't make them privileged. Also, the experience of discrimination never will be the same for all parts of LGBTQ+ community, for example: cis gay never will experience transphobia, so they have to stop marginalizing the discrimination against A-spec community. If they don't experience something doesn't mean that this kind of discrimination is 'less discrimination'.

  2. Tbh, nothing special. I've made some posts linked to aromanticism and had to debunk one more time the 'popular' in my country wrong definition of it. It's really boring to have to repeat the same thing so much times and persons seem to don't understand it because they don't pay attention to aromantic persons writing about aromanticism but psychologist who wrote wrong definition on his blog, completely don't understanding the subject.

Do you have any comfort characters?

It can seem weird, but Hidan and Shikamaru Nara are both my comfort characters. I've returned into my very old special interest just because of Hidan and I started creating cosplay of him. Because I like them, I headcanon both as arospec.

    he has Asperger’s

'Asperger's syndrome' is a harmful, ableist thing and is no more in the use. It was used to categorize autistic persons as 'worse' and 'better' ('low-' and 'highfunctioning' labels are harmful in the same way), also it has direct connection to a very bad person.

I wanted to know if anyone had any insight to what might be going on

Autistic persons see and interpretate things in other way than allistics and the chance that an autistic person is also arospec or in other LGBTQ+ part is higher. Personally I know more neurodivergent persons who are LGBTQ+ than neurodivergent cishet and there are also some who are both autistic and arospec. I'm myself both autistic and aromantic.

If your friend is interested in reading about aromanticism, I recommend to show him the AUREA's site. If he's uninterested, there's no sense to continue the conversation about it.

ahhh that makes sense, when i initially did my research i could only find really set orientations so was a bit put off, but this is so much better! thank youu :)

Yeah, it's difficult to find informations when doing research for the first time. Arospecs are forgotten and when we're talking about varioriented arospecs it becomes more difficult to find something.

I feel like there's also an aro day during pride month but I'm not totally sure.

This one during pride month doesn't count. People usually even don't pay attention for it.

Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week is actually coming up

I'm talking about other thing. Like, there's AAW and two other days marked in different months, so why don't mark some dates for aro pride/visibility?

  7. Connections between neurodivergency and being aro.

Why aromanticism isn't opposition for 'hopeless romantic' (orientation can't be opposition to a trait).

What is SAM and that there are aros who don't use it (personally I've already had situation when sb tried to force me to use 'asexual' term while I don't identify with it).

Why the narration 'they were bad but they found a partner and it turned them good' is harmful for arospec.
