Universe on fire  by Gloryhammer : this one just...make me laugh a little because it's a little over the top but nice ??

Damn I forgot about Gloryhammer, very good for non romantic songs. I would also put 'The Unicorn Invasion of Dundee' as a suggestion, if nothing else just for the title.

  2. Ok, here's a few things I would like/not like.

I would like to see this character have those worries about being seen as a bad person because of their desire for sex without romance, and discuss them openly. Even if it is a reference to past feelings the idea that being allo-aro is something which does come with stigma is something I would rather have on the table. As has been mentioned in other comments, it's not as simple as just having casual sex. It might be interesting to have them confronted with that, with people who after agreeing to a purely sexual relation start pushing for some more romantic ideas and show the character pointing out their limits, and holding their ground on what they are not comfortable with.

What I really would like in an allo aro character is a character who talked openly about what they wanted sexually and what they are comfortable with as well as pointing out their no-go romantic areas. The big thing that I think is sometimes not talked about is that since allosexual covers a broad range of activities an allo-aro character will place some limits on sex. I would love to see an allo aro character say 'actually, no, I'm not comfortable with that' or similar in a sexual context.

Also that they are frank about things like STDs, and contraception. This is sort of connected with the stigma of being sleazy as an allo-aro, I would really wish for a character who shows their care, it is not romantic but just the moral, being a good human parts of a purely sexual relationship.

The thing I would really not want in an in allo aro representation is shying away from these discussions and just having the character go from a brief getting to know, to having sex, to the next day, which risks having the character come across as irresponsible by omission.

lastly, good luck, it sounds like a fun project. I like the ideas you have of your characters and you have the determination to ask around in order to get them right

  3. Research your brain. Your school notices your anger management issues and tries to deal with them at a surface level because that is what they need to sort out to run smoothly. If you want to work out what is really going on in there you will have to do it yourself.

put some effort in a diet right the hell now, you will have to deal with that later and the longer you leave it the more difficult getting healthy will become.

You have a kink, you will be unsure how to approach this for decades to come but for now just know that it is fine and you aren't some sort of freak. You will be much happier when you accept that and be open with yourself about finding pornography which works for you by the way.

Oh, and Leicester win the prem in 2016, that should sort out the student debt

  4. OK, this has no particular theme but heres a few I like which are either instrumentals or lyrics which don't have anything to do with romance. I have no idea what sort of music you want for feeling good so this is just a random ramble through a load of genres just picking songs I find positive.

Mexico - Alestorm (although this does have brief reference to wenches, so casual sex. If you want something not about romance how about pirates going on for a drunken party in Mexico)

    Green Onions - Booker T & the MG's

Sit Down - James (there is a wonderful live version of this which I cannot find at the moment where Tim Booth finishes by saying 'I'd like to invite you all home for milk and cookies', which is just so wholesome)

Go - Public Service Broadcasting (seriously if you want songs with no mention of romance check PSB out, they have albums based on WW2, space exploration and the welsh mining industry)

Electric Avenue - Eddy Grant (a protest song but musically upbeat)

In the Castle of my Skin - Sons of Kemet

Never Fight a Man With a Perm - Idles (a really fun tune, shouty)

Baker Street - Gerry Rafferty (SAXOPHONE)

    Jimmy's Gang - Parov Stellar

All Star - Smash Mouth (it counts, all right)

YMCA - The Village People (another cheesy choice but again, it counts)

    Ebeneezer Goode - The Shamen

Spanish Flea - Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass

Fire - The Crazy World of Arthur Brown (what could be more upbeat than shouting 'I am the god of hell fire)

God is a DJ - Faithless

  5. Meaningless by The Magnetic Fields has this wonderful verse:

'And if some dim bulb should say
We were in love in some way
Kick all his teeth in for me
And if you feel like keeping on kicking
    Feel free'

I think the song  is kind of inteded to be a romantic song sung with bitter sarcasm at someone else saying a relationship was meaningless, but I can't help thinking of singing it loud and happy and totally agreeeing with the sentiment that the whole thing was meaningless.

  6. Waay back in primary school my class was given the task of writing a timeline of our life, kind of like hopes and dreams sort of thing.

a friend of mine put, rather jokingly:

    marriage

    the next day - divorce

I thought it was brilliant and we both proceeded to turn our predicted lives into a long line of pain involving continuing theme of marriage followed very quickly by ridding ourselves of any partner. highlights include: next day - set on fire, next day-beheading and next day-give up,get cat. My teacher was not particularly impressed

  7. Hi

I guess this is me, I stumbled upon the idea that I might be aromantic almost a year ago and have eventually came to terms with it.

I'm in my 20s (dont want to be more specific) and from Essex, a place in the UK with a reputation which made accepting being an allosexual aromantic far more difficult than it should have been. I have slowly came to realise that I'm not just opportunistic scum.

Other than that I am a scientist by trade, and a lover of beer and football. I spend most of my free time on either miniature modelling or making metal jewellery.

So hello you wonderful lot, it's good to find a quiet little corner of the internet which feels like home
