Study: please help us understand how you think about online privacy!

Recommended Posts

Hi! I'm Kelly, a student at Carnegie Mellon University doing research at North Carolina State University. My research team is currently working on a project to investigate how to make privacy policies more interactive. We want to design a system such that instead of looking at boring text, users can ask questions about how the policy applies to their specific concerns and get answers in terms of examples. To do that, we would like to better understand how users think about online privacy and privacy policies. We want to make sure to get LGBTQ+ perspectives in particular, to understand the unique privacy concerns that might crop up. If you would like to help us out, please consider taking our online survey (about 15 minutes). A small number of participants may also be contacted for an optional online interview (only if you indicate you would like to be contacted), which will take about 1 hour.

To participate in this research study, you must be 18 years of age or older, live in the US, be fluent in English, and be a user of online services (such as email, social media, online apps, etc.). Participation is strictly voluntary, minimal risk, and of no direct benefit to you. We will, however, compensate you for your time: survey participants will be put in a raffle for $10 Amazon gift cards, and each interview participant will be given a $20 Amazon gift card.

You can participate by going to https://ncsu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_2sJe6jvlCpeGJZI. You can stop participating at any time by closing your browser. Thank you for your time!
