You have a car, but it doesn't work and now you have to pay hundreds of dollars to either fix it or scrap it
I wish I had done my bibliography perfectly

Yeah, that’s very good. Hopefully when gen z or millenials FINALLY become dominant we can fix the world. We have far better values than that of some of the past generation and I think that acceptance would go so much further when we see a gen-zer or millenial as president. I mean I don’t want to continue the whole “generational war” thing but it’ll give me some relief to see a generation that values social justice in charge.
I actually disagree, I think some things will definitely improve, but we're far from fixing the world. And remember that while the gen-Zs and millennials you know have better values and value social justice more than the boomers you know, that's definitely not universal among our generation. Especially the ones that are likely to get elected any time soon

So yeah internet has a role, I think most of us find out thanks to it. But I don't think it is the only explanation. I think people find aromanticism easier simply because our community did a great job at increasing our visibility. So thanks the community!
I definitely agree, and it probably has something to do with more LGBTQ visibility and acceptance too (once queer people were less worried about general homophobia, the community had the time and space to think about more niche parts of the acronym)

Also: people who don't know the aroace flag but are generally active in today's society will probably be able to tell that your pin is a queer flag (and therefore that you're queer). They just won't know which one it is, so I'd say, only get it if that's something you're comfortable with

Q: What are you stacking?
A: Wahoo!

Q: What did you call your teacher that got you in detention?
A: 56 of them

Unfortunately I've been there and I don't think there's much you can do, except to ride it out and try to give as little of a satisfying reaction as you can. So try to act like it's weird that they're asking (especially for the "would you hit" questions), and don't outright ignore them but don't get angry or annoyed (or flustered, if at all possible)

You might also be experiencing sexual or platonic attraction

Make friends from other classes, etc, and start hanging out more with those friends. Make it seem like a coincidence if they call you out on it, but just kind of replace them with another friend group slowly

Not at all, pronouns don't have to correlate with gender! Although I would be prepared for how people around you might respond

Not sure if it really counts, but I got an aro short story anthology for myself a while ago as a treat, and I really like one of the stories, called "A Full Deck". If it doesn't, then Radio Silence by Alice Oseman
