  1. I'm not sure if it really counts, but I did have a dream once where I had at least one crush? I knew this in the dream because I chose to give my crush(es) a hair from my unicorn mane (I was a unicorn in this dream) to keep them safe from the faceless lumpy men who were surrounding us, which indicated romantic interest. So yeah, really weird dream so I'm not sure if it really counts

  2. You forgot to make a wish, so I'll make one for you, and one of my own:

Your wish: I wish I had remembered to make a wish

My wish: I wish I had the motivation to finish studying for my test tomorrow (and my exam Thursday)

For two of them I made myself, but for the last I couldn't resist the appeal of some dramatic long black hair. She's an old-fashioned Hollywood star who famously never leaves her home except to work on movies, and she never gives interviews, and only answers reporters in one-word answers, if at all. Is it just plain old agoraphobia, or is there something... spookier going on? Dun dun dunnnn! (Also she's Jewish like me)

  4. This was so fun! I wasn't expecting so many options. Oh and I added both the lesbian and bi flag because I'm not sure which fits better rn and there isn't really a flag for "I like girls and that's kind of all I know right now"

  5. You COULD have unlimited knowledge, but you don't. (Alternatively, you have unlimited knowledge but none of it is organized in your mind, so if you're trying to know something about one subject you'll suddenly know everything about a different subject instead)

I wish for an outfit generator that gives me the perfect outfit for any given occasion

  6. For me, I think my allosexuality has affected my sexual desire in that I've started to notice an irrational fear that my allosexuality is somehow immoral or predatory because it's not tempered by romantic attraction, which has caused me to try and (somewhat fail to) repress it. Though I'm not sure if that really counts as being because of my aromantic allosexuality or just internal homophobia. Either way, I don't think it will affect me in the long run.

I don't know why or what they're doing but I'm tired of it.

How do I get them to stop? They're so annoying and It's weird.

Unfortunately there's no good way to get rid of it until they get tired of it or you leave the school. You could try reacting in a really 'normal' way, like acting freaked out a bit like they're being weird and irrational for doing this (which they ARE), as long as you don't overdo it. Some advice, though: do NOT react in any extreme way, that'll make it a lot worse

I didn't really like the plot with Rebecca and that boat-guy, but not for any particular reason.

Same! It felt so out-of-nowhere and random, like she just NEEDED a romantic partner so they went "uhhhh here fall in the water and get saved by Hot Guy. You have romance now"

What were people's thoughts about the last episode?

Hi everyone! I thought I'd share a book with you all that I recently read.

It's called Take Me to Your Nerdy Leader by Hailey Gonzales (sorry if this book has been mentioned before). It's a YA novel from the perspective of a teenage girl called Paige who is aromantic allosexual. Unlike in Loveless, where the main character doesn't know about aromanticism at the beginning, Paige is well aware of her orientation from the start.

Has anyone else read this book? If so, please feel free to comment what your thoughts are of it. I gave it 4/5 stars (here is my Goodreads review of the book if you're interested).

    Take care :)

I started to read this a while ago, but the spelling and grammar mistakes were too much for me... I'll reread, maybe my tolerance has gone up!

  10. I'm not really sure whether this should go here, Aromantic Discussions, or Off Topic because it's not technically about aromanticism directly, but I'm writing a satirical speech for English class about rainbow capitalism and I'd love an aro perspective.

    Spoiler

It’s almost June, and you know what that means! Pride month. So this year, the Financial Advisory Group, aka the F.A.G., is doing a little Q&A.

You were supposed to have Elizabeth from the third lowest budgeting office doing this, because she’s a lesbian, but due to some urgent downsizing issues, she’s unable to join us today. So instead, you get me! Let’s dive into it, shall we?

    Question 1: Are you gay?

Wow, I wonder who could have put this question into the ol’ suggestion box, huh? Haha… NO. While I have the utmost respect for the LBGTC community, I myself am very much not gay. I could never be gay, it’s just not something I could do, personally.

Question 2: What is the F.A.G. doing for pride month?

What a great question! We’re going above and beyond for pride month this year! Not only did we change our logo on all of our social media to include a rainbow, we’re also selling limited edition rainbow t-shirts! You can support your gay friends and show your F.A.G pride with these shirts, which are available on our website for 39.99. You can also buy normal shirts from the same website, which are available for 29.99.

Question 3: What is the F.A.G. doing about homophobia in the workplace?

The F.A.G. doesn’t have any issues with homophobia. However, we do believe that everyone is entitled to their beliefs, even if we don’t necessarily like those beliefs. Having said that, violence is not tolerated at the F.A.G, and anyone assaulting our LBRQS employees will be firmly reprimanded by our HR department.

Question 4: How are you supporting your LGBTQ employees?

The F.A.G is giving all LCBOWH*C employees their very own company tote bags! AND two day’s unpaid time off for the pride parade! Or church, whatever the employee decides.

Question 5: What would you say to an employee who wanted to date a coworker of the same gender?

I love this question, in fact I actually met my husband at an F.A.G conference! Let me just say, not a lot of work got done at that meeting, if you catch my drift! But seriously, while the F.A.G. supports everyone’s right to live their own, self-fulfilling LFJB3Q lifestyle, we would prefer for employees to keep their private lives out of the workplace.

Question 6: Does the F.A.G respect their transgender employees’ pronouns and gender?

Of course! I mean, it can be hard to remember but we always make an effort! In fact, my friend’s kid’s babysitter Samuel, oops I mean Sandra, is transgender himself! And I ALWAYS try to respect Samuel’s, oops I mean Sandra’s, gender.

Question 7: Will any profits that the F.A.G. makes during pride month be donated to LGBT organizations?

Yes! The F.A.G will be donating 0.5% of proceeds from our limited edition rainbow t-shirts, available on our website for 39.99, to the Christian Gay Fund, which is filled with amazing people just dedicating their life to helping with the issue of the LGBBQUFOGHUO*(@(B! community.

Question 8: Would you like to comment on the leaked emails showing that your company helped fund several anti-gay bills, and has donated to many homophobic charities, also known as Emailgate?

I have worked at the F.A.G. for ten years, since it was just a small start-up in my friend Jerry’s garage at his father’s second summer home, and I don’t believe I have seen a single act of homophobia that whole time! The F.A.G. is such a supportive family to absolutely everyone who works there.

Question 9: How do you feel about your company’s leaked homophobic emails?

Okay, you know what, let’s just move on from this topic, shall we?

[Flipping through question papers] uh, actually, you know what, let’s just end the Q&A here. Eight questions is good. Remember, during pride month everything on the F.A.G website is 10% off with the code FAIRY!

Romance on the other hand was never really shamed, because it's regarded as a sort of sublimation of sexual desire. So we shouldn't pretend there's some kind of symmetry here.

I disagree with this: straight and white romance has never really been shamed. But queer, interracial, and polyamorous romance has been discriminated against and shamed for a very long time (especially in the West). So when you insult romance in general, you're also insulting those groups (especially in an aro space, where chances are most people experiencing romantic attraction are experiencing queer romantic attraction)
