  1. I grew up in the Alaska wilderness.  We were far from people but some animals would eat out of my hand, & my best friend was a wolf.  Since then I've lived in towns & now a city; I've taken care of dogs, cats, rabbits, goldfish, parakeets, cockatiels, & chickens.  I also remember the forget-me-nots & sitka spruces in Alaska & have had various houseplants, particularly aloes.

Which non-humans have been important to you?

  2. You have to go to your Edit profile page & click the Enable status updates in the upper left.  "What's on your mind?" is on the forum page under RECENT STATUS UPDATES.  You can also go to your profile page where under Activity it says "Write a public message on your own feed..."

  3. If you think Washington is too rainy, try Ketchikan where it rains every day.  If you think the American South is conservative, Alaskans actually elect nutjobs like Sarah Palin & Wally Hickel.

I was born in Ketchikan, Alaska; raised in The Kenai National Moose Range & later Aumsville, Oregon; I'm now in Salem, Oregon.  I have pictures of these places on my profile page under "about me."

  4. My father grew up on a farm raising crops?‍?, knew everything about building/fixing houses? & traveled everywhere he wanted by hopping on train boxcars?.  I am not a physically strong person who can do those things.  Although he wanted me to be a carpenter like him, he was impressed by my genealogy research?.  My best friend is good at tribal arts like archery?, beadwork? & riding?.  I lack the dexterity & am afraid of horses.  Yet she admires my deep spirituality? & envies the fact that I've never been a fool for love?.  Nobody can be good at everything--but you have things you can do better than others, too.?
