Asexuals can still enjoy fictional smut while still being asexual, so aromantics can enjoy fictional romance while still being aromantic.

I'm offended that your pfp hasn't change a single time in months

I often called the special feelings I had for a few select people a "platonic crush" before I heard of squish being a thing when I joined AVEN in 2015. I don't really get them much anymore I don't think.

I don't know if I like the aro flag cake or ghost better

Yuu from Bloom Into You is pretty obviously grey-aro or demiromantic lesbian
Maki from the same series is aromantic asexual- 1

So looks like there is some debate if the main character is grey-aro or just a very repressed lesbian. I think grey-aro or demiromantic personally, but either way the first episode is very aromantic-coded and just feels like a breath of fresh air. Basically just says "some people just don't want to date anybody and that's alright".
Oh, there is a total aroace character, too! He's introduced in episode 4. -

CSA survivor also, I don't think my being aromantic has anything to do with it. Whether that's the case or not for you, is up to you to determine. But they aren't necessarily connected.

I agree with the alexithymia suggestion. It's common with other disorders, but I think could be a thing on its own, too?

For me, I find that I'm kinda demiromantic about shipping Like. I may like a ship. But I don't ship them in the way that most people do, unless I take a long time to get used to them being a thing. I have ships where I want all the shippy interactions! All of them! Only a handful of ships fall under this category, but still.
And then I have other ships where, yeah, I ship them on a technicality, but also..... I treat the ship more as a QPR in my head than I do a romantic ship.

Of course!

Most places I frequent seem pretty accepting of the fact that most people don't live in absolutes and also acknowledge the grey area, but I'm not surprised that there are areas that do not.

A common characteristics for autism is problem interpreting once own emotions. Your friend could choose to identify as aromantic if he wants but in the end that's up to him.
Alexithymia, yes. It's very common in autistic people. I don't have it, I've always been very much in connection with my emotions.

I'm familiar with the concept, not sure if there is an official stance among the staff. My view is your business is your business - not mine, not that guy over there, just yours'.

Hi everybody, it's my first post here. I love what y'all drew 💚 I recently did a drawing (it's still a work in progress) in wich there's an aro flag so I might post it later on
Can I see? 🐶

I'm autistic but I don't think it's related to me being aro

Nah. Just like some aces like to write and read smut (one of my friends falls into this category), some aros like to write and read romance. Just cuz you like stuff in fiction doesn't mean you like it irl.

My workplace allows us to wear pride related stuff during pride month

I will be judged if I say I'm aroace so I'm keeping it a secret. Is this right?
