How do you feel about implied non specific LGBT+ representation in media?

I feel like not outright saying their identity with certain exceptions like coming outs or private/comfortable conversations, because it feels more authentic. At least for me, I don't see people flaunting around their label, straight or not, so it's frustrating when media does it. So being subtle or mentioning it offhand is preferable.

Part of me is okay with ambiguously queer characters because it can be fun to just kind of run with it and not worry about specific labels, but it would be much better in many instances to have explicitly LGBTQ characters. Honestly, it can feel really cowardly for people to just kind of hint and not make it explicit.
