  1. I feel like aromantic style is simply a lack thereof. We aren't trying to impress anyone.
  2. Idk, it feels like aromanticism gets kinda overlooked in a lot of LGBTQ discourse. As someone who is still sexually straight, as well as cisgender, it sounds kind of stupid but sometimes I feel like I don't count? Like some fucked up version of impostor syndrome in more general LGBTQ circles. I also feel that the prevalence of lumping sexual and romantic attraction also doesn't help.
  3. I watched Jaiden Animation's "Being Not Straight" video and noticed her story was suspiciously similar to my experiences throughout middle and high school
  4. Ain't Talkin' Bout Love - Van Halen Song is about wanting a one night stand/friends with benefits arrangement instead of an actual romantic relationship. Ain't talkin' 'bout love My love is rotten to the core Ain't talkin' 'bout love Just like I told you before, before, before Ain't talkin' 'bout love Don't wanna talk about love Don't need to talk about love Ain't gonna talk about love No more, no more Also I really love classic rock, and it feels so good to have a song in this genre that I vibe with so much
  5. My whole life romance felt like an obligation, like something that I HAD to get done in order to live a Happy Fulfilling Life™. To me, it felt like a school assignment that I had to complete. Imagine stressing over a big school assignment you've been putting off, only to get an email from the teacher informing you that the assignment is now optional, and you're free to forget about it. That's the feeling I got once I learned this about myself. I no longer feel forced to give a shit. Also seeing how "universal" the feeling of heartbreak is (literally like 75% of song lyrics are about it), and being somewhat immune to this commonly experienced feeling of misery gives me a bit of a smug sense of superiority.
  6. Since reddit is dead to me after their BS API pricing changes, ive decided to switch to using an old-fashioned dedicated forum. Hello!
  7. Sonic the hedgehog, bro doesn't give a fuck about Amy rose, chooses to actively ignore her in most situations. Romance is too slow and boring for him, he wants to spend his days running fast and beating up evil robots. Papyrus from undertale, dude doesn't even know what romance is, ends up trying to use a book he found at the library to figure out how to date someone, and it fails spectacularly as he has no idea what the book is talking about.
