  1. I HOPE NOT.  I GET THE IMPRESSION THAT A LOT OF AVEN'S PROBLEMS COME FROM A LACK OF SERVER SPACE, AND SINCE AROCALYPSE IS A MUCH SMALLER SITE THEY'RE UNLIKELY TO HAVE THAT PROBLEM FOR NOW.

  2. I'm a proud Hufflepuff!  I'd also chose Abnegation in the Divergent universe (though I'd most likely be at least a little bit divergent), and would like to be a child of either Ares or Athena.

  3. I grew up in a Catholic environment, and I still practice Christianity today.  For me, I was able to justify my orientation by religious doctrine.  There are three vocations that God can call you to be a part of- the religious life, the married life, and the single life- and I see the fact that God made me aro ace as a way to call me into the single life.  I don't know how or why I was meant to be single rather than married or religious, but I can feel that I am.

As for how to come out to others in a Christian environment- I don't really know. I think that in a perfect world Christians would accept you for who are because of Jesus' call to love all people, but as you probably know that isn't always the case.  I know, for example, my parents are the type to judge people in the LGBT community as being special snowflakes seeing attention, so although I think they'd be okay if I never married, I don't think I can ever really "come out" to them as aro.

  4. YEAH, I CAN'T GET ON AVEN EITHER.  I MEAN, I CAN, BUT IT TOOK THE FRONT PAGE LIKE FIVE MINUTES TO LOAD AND IT'S SO SLOW IT'S ALMOST UNUSABLE.  THE LAST FEW TUESDAYS I'VE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE, WHICH SUCKS BECAUSE TUESDAY I HAVE A LARGE GAP IN MY DAY THAT'S PERFECT FOR DECLASS AND RANDOM AVENING. :(

  5. DO VALIDATIONS STILL COUNT IF THEY'RE NOT ON AVEN?  CAUSE I JUST DROPPED A VALIDATION BOMB. xD

AVEN IS BEING SLOW SO I AM HERE FOR NOW.  IT SEEMS LIKE YOU GUYS POSTS A TON WHILE I WAS GONE.

  6. OP, DON'T YOU HAVE WELL OVER 10000 POSTS ON AVEN?  IF YOU HAVE THAT MANY HERE ALREADY THAT WOULD BE PRETTY IMPRESSIVE.

I DON'T MY POST COUNT HERE WILL EVER BE AS HIGH AS IT IS ON AVEN, BUT I'M POSTING HERE A LOT MORE THAN I THOUGHT I WOULD.

  7. I THINK THE EMOTICONS ON THIS SITE ARE MUCH MORE EQUIPPED TO HANDLE CAPS LOCK'S FREQUENT FOOD DISCUSSIONS.

ALSO, AS FOR BOARD GAMES, I THINK BOARD GAMES ARE AMAZING, ESPECIALLY STRATEGIC ONES.  I MAY NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT GAMING IN THE VIDEO GAMING SENSE, BUT I'M A BIT OF A BOARD GAME NERD AND I APPROVE OF BOARD GAME COMPETITIVE-NESS

Similar to the other responders here too. I feel that I am razor thin close to being aro. I have had one crush in my life, but no real desire to turn it into a full relationship.

So, technically this would mean I am not aro, but so close that I feel comfortable using the label anyway. I hope claiming that doesn't offend any aros out there.

As a not-grey aromantic person, I don't find this offensive at all :)

  9. I think shipping can be fun sometimes, but before I recently realized that before I identified as aro, all my ships were people that I thought would make a good queerplatonic couple.  Shipping people in romantic or sexual ways always feels weird and foreign to me.

Also related, in my freshman year of college, some of my friends decided to ship me with this guy we both knew who was about to graduate.  I just kind of laughed it off and went along with it for a while, because although I didn't know him very well he seemed like a nice enough guy.  Then they started trying to set me up with him, and it became to most awkward thing ever, because of course I didn't have a crush on him like I assumed they did. I was very relived to find out he was married, because after that I knew nothing would come of their antics.
