Kind of. I still hate how the first thing that people think of when they read quotes like that is romantic love.

I actually agree with this quote. My cat is getting old and I know I only have a few years left with him, but I'd rather have him and deal with that heartbreak than never have adopted him in the first place. People on the other hand, they're not as important. 

My aunt just got married. Now she feels the need to shove me into a relationship so I can be as happy as she is. Ugh. Why do people think that just because they're happy in a relationship that that means they have to play matchmaker for everyone else?

I LOVE Hannibal. 

A lot of those movies where the characters realize they're in love right before they die remind me of battlefield weddings. They feel that they need to do something in that moment because they're going to die and then will most likely realize later that they really don't get along that well. It's overdone in my opinion and I'm really glad they didn't force a kiss scene onto Jyn and Cassain.

I had the same struggle when breaking up with my ex. Eventually I just used school as an excuse because it was something he could believe. 

Why when breaking up with someone is "it's not you, it's me" an unreasonable answer? If you are not happy or in a position to be in a stable relationship does the other person not respect that sometimes it just doesn't work out? It's not a cliche if it's true. 

Don't know if this is exactly an aro thing, but even back when i was a kid I never liked wearing anything I considered to be revealing (aka shorts) because I felt highly uncomfortable wearing them around people. 

A few of my classmates started dating back in elementary school and I asked them why they were dating. I never got an actual answer, just things like "well, that's what people do.  Why?

I'm sorry you had to go through that. That's kind of how I ended up in my first relationship. 

I confess that sometimes PDA makes me either want to run at the couple waving my arms like a madman so they'll stop and run away, or immediately flee the scene so that I'll no longer have to watch. 

Why do some people date for years and then one of them holds out on wanting to get married? My sister is currently going through this with her BF but he always avoids the subject of marriage even though it is a reasonable discussion for them to have at this point in their relationship. Ah well, at least I don't have to worry about this happening to me. It just confuses me is all.

I kind of want my sister to break up with her BF because she's turned into an insensitive and selfish person since she met him. 

Watching people do the who shoulder massage/caress thing in public. It makes me really uncomfortable. 

The sheer amount of money that people spend on their SO. My sister couldn't buy me a birthday card because she bought her BF a new coffee maker thing.

Untamed Heart, I went through pretty much the same thing. My ex was a really great guy but I just couldn't bring myself to feel anything for him in the way he wanted me to. It was good for me though. I feel so much happier now that I don't feel like I have to get a boyfriend just because that's what people do. This bird is flying solo.

The complete waste of money people spend trying to determine if they are compatible. 

I confess that when re-watching The Hobbit: Battle of 5 Armies last night and I saw Tauriel crying over Kili's corpse I wanted to jump into the screen and slap her in the face with a fish. Not only is her character useless but the whole relationship is horribly done.

You get so natural at conversing that you can't stop conversing, ever. 

I wish I could drive a tank over all of the slow people on the road that I can't pass. 

I hate that people practically drop everyone and everything from their lives to dedicate 97% of their time to their partner. 

Well naturally I thought I was "strait" when I was younger because wasn't everybody. Poor, poor naive little me. You didn't know you'd grow up and want to punch PDA couples in the throat.

My friend complains to me about how she can't get a boyfriend and internally I'm just: "get yourself a stable career before you start manhunting dummy."
