If you click on your profile, you should find a picture icon on the lower left-hand corner of your current profile photo. Click on that. Afterward, on "Photo Type", make sure that "Upload Photo" is selected. Then, click "Choose Single File". Upon clicking "Choose Single File", you should then be able to choose a file from your computer that you'd like to use as a profile photo.

I was only able to use png images, in spite of the "Accepted file types" list.  If you click on "Cover photo" on the upper right corner, you can change your background.

To answer the question in your Personal Information:  I've read that plants are gender fluid or intersexed.
