  1. If I did the math right, I'd get around 20k in total if I died at 80 and made 10$ every day. Depends on how much money the money option is, then.

    Money or shapeshifting power?

  2. Greyromantic is an umbrella term that covers anyone on the aromantic-spectrum that isn't 100% aromantic. Sometimes the terms are used interchangeably.

Another term you can look into is aegoromantic. The LGBTQIA wiki on Fandom says,

"Aegoromantic describes those who enjoy the concept of romance but do not have a desire to participate in romantic activities. Aegoromantic individuals may have romantic fantasies, enjoy romantic media, or engage in shipping in fandoms, but they tend to feel little to no romantic attraction in real life and typically do not desire a romantic relationship."

  3. Dreamsexual, dreamromantic, and dreamgender all just make me angry. (The YT one, not the attracted in dreams one.)

Who even decided to make a term for that?? It turns the pride comminity into a joke. (I ranted about how horrible dreamsexual was to a friend once. It was. a really. long. rant.) Once I stumbled apon some Dreamsexual server in discord's server discovery, and the sheer amount of people in it was honestly a little scary...

Anyways, I'm so sorry for any aros or grey-aros who have been attacked because of a stupid label and a misunderstanding.

  4. I think its fine for your gf to talk to other men, making friends is fine! Also wthis is an aromantics forum, not a place to ask for relationship advice! /nm /lh
  5. Anyone have aro quotes or phrases you like? Here are some of mine:

    • "There is loveless" - idk where I got this from, but I just like the phrase ahaha
    • "Celebrate every love" - found this on a month pride poster! I think it was directed towards gay lovers but I still like how it validates non-romantic love
    • "'Your father means that you used a very generalized word, so meaningless that it's become almost obsolete,' his mother explained carefully." - this is a quote from Lois Lowry's The Giver. The quote is not meant to be aro, (it's meant to be about how depressing and loveless their society is,) but I like it anyways!

    What are yours?

  6. Fun fact: Feburary is not only valentines' day month and black history month, it's also arospec awareness month!

As roboticanary said, try slipping it into a conversation, maybe mentioning that you don't understand it or don't want a romantic relationship. You may also find it easier to come out online, in texts or emails or something.

Try running through the scenario in your head, thinking about what you will say and how your friend my respond.

  7. I've got a few:
    - When did you start feeling romantic attraction?
    - Do you think that there are different "shades" of romantic attraction? Different levels or types of it?
    - Do queerplatonic relationships sound appealing to you as an allo?

Thank you! Hope none of these are too personal haha

  8. I find it mildly annoying, all the valentines day celebrations and nonsense. I just feel like I'm above it all…

But! This year I'm planning to come out as aroace to some friends on valentines day (tomorrow!) for the irony of it. Right now I'm 100% closeted, so I'm hoping it goes alright!

  9. Here's some things you could mention:
    - amatonormativity
    - aro myths (not all aros are ace, aros are not emotionless robots)
    - queerplatonic relationships? Whn I first started looking to aromantics, i found the topics were very connected
    - other types of attraction (platonic, aesthetic, etc.)
    - some aro pride stuff, like aro rings
    - aro vs. ace

Hope this helps! Good luck on your presentation!
