  1. I'm in what we've been calling a "situationship" with a person on the aromantic spectrum. We're extremely close, and (as an alloromantic person) everything about our relationship is exactly what I'm used to in any romantic relationship, aside from her not having romantic feelings for me. We love each other deeply, and she feels more connected to me than she ever has to a partner, even on the very rare occasion that she has felt romantically toward someone. She has recently asked for a more tangible level of commitment. She's pretty new to exploring her identity, and I've never been in a relationship with an aromantic person before. Terms like "qp" and similar don't feel like quite enough, and terms like "girlfriend" make her feel really uneasy. I would really like to work through some options with her, but I'm pretty lost. Would anyone be willing to offer experiences or insight? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
  2. I can't find anywhere that strictly states who can access this forum, so I hope it's alright for me to be here. Please call me out if something I say is problematic! I'm transmasc/nonbinary (he/him), queer, and alloromantic as far as I can tell at this point. I'm here because I someone very close to me identifies on the aromantic spectrum, and has been interested in defining our relationship better (more on that in a different post). I'd like to learn more, both so that I can be a better ally, and so that I can help find ways to navigate our relationship and be in touch with her needs. I hope everyone is doing well!
