I thought that maybe this kind of relationship would be more for me, any insight on this topic would be appreciated.

QPRs can look like lots of different things so you might get different answers depending on who you ask. For some people it might be a non-romantic relationship that still has a high level of commitment, think sharing housing and finances or even raising kids. For others it might be more like any type of relationship that transcends what's usually expected of a friendship. To give you an example, my friend and I check in on each other every day and are each other's go-to person when it comes to emotional support or just for hanging out in general. We don't explicitly label it as a QPR but it would probably fit the definition given the emotional closeness of it.
