tiger_hoods12 Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 I’m counting this as an aro ally experience. I went to the hairdresser’s to get my hair done and as the woman was working on it, another woman came up to me to compliment my hair. She asked if I had a boyfriend. I said no. She asked if I had a girlfriend. I said no. She then said “Well, you’re gonna get one now.” I smiled politely as the woman doing my hair said “Or she could just not want one because not everyone wants those kinds of things.” She said something along the lines of that. This happened a couple months ago. I was so shocked and happy to hear that! I didn’t say anything, but I felt so seen in that moment. I’m used to people recognizing asexuality but aromanticism? Hardly! This was the first time it happened to me. I mean, she might’ve not have known about aromanticism at all, but she certainly didn’t know I was one. But to subtly represent through a simple sentence was amazing! Again, even if she didn’t know and maybe was just referring to allos not wanting a relationship, still so cool! I felt so represented by that. Again, didn’t ever tell her I was aro, and I never asked her. I thought it’d be too invasive, but wow, was I impressed! Still so happy that kind of recognition happened! 5 Quote

The Newest Fabled Creature Posted January 5 Posted January 5 My brother whenever he makes "no bitches 😎👍" jokes, but they're about me and not himself regardless of his own relationship status. I don't know, I just love it, mainly because of how he delivers the joke but also it's his way of saying, "Hey, I may forget some things or mess up, but I see you." 1 Quote
