From now on, instead of making a new thread and cluttering up the Visibility, Articles, and Meetups section, I'm just going to post new aro (and ace) events happening in Toronto in this thread!

To start with, in December there's a lot happening:

December 8th - in person meetup to make holiday (or whatever occasion) cards, in room 304 of the 519 (519 Church St) from 2–4:30PM. ASL interpretation is confirmed for that, and masks are required! Accessibility details for the 519 below, and these details should stay the same for any other events happening in the 519 in future (Toronto Aces and Aros hosts a meetup at the 519 monthly, every second Sunday of the month)

December 1 - online disability caucus from 6:30-8:00PM. This caucus is a closed space just for disabled ace/aro/questioning folks (details below)

December 18 - online BIPoC caucus from 6:30–8:00PM. This caucus is a closed space just for racialize/BIPoC ace/aro/questioning folks (details below)

Unfortunately, ASL interpretation is not available for either caucus, and the meet links are the same for both, just DM me for the link!

Disability Caucus --

This caucus is for people who identify as disabled to join us in the space to discuss our experiences as disabled ace/aro folks, or to just chat and get to know each other in general!

As a reminder, please be respectful to everyone in the space, and remember that "disability" encompasses a wide range of experiences, just as "ace" and "aro" do. We'll do our best to moderate the space while ensuring that folks can come as they are.

BIPoC Caucus --

For this caucus, we're inviting people who identify as racialized (Black, Indigenous, or otherwise a Person of Colour) to chat about our experiences and get to know each other!

As a reminder, please be respectful to everyone in the space, and remember that being racialized encompasses a wide range of experiences, just as "ace" and "aro" do. We'll do our best to moderate the space while ensuring that folks can come as they are. As this is a safe space for BIPOC folks--many of whom have been traumatized by white people--white people are absolutely not allowed to join this Caucus. We thank you for respecting the space.

519 Accessibility
    - ramp to enter
    - elevator (fixed)
    - accessible all-gender washrooms
    - we ask everyone not communicating by ASL to wear masks (masks provided if needed)
