Aros and glasses

I'm running out of silly "aros and ____" topics, seriously. πŸ˜ƒ

I guess glasses and romance have a special connection in movies. Especially in 90s romcoms, there are those scenes "boy takes off glasses from nerdy girl and recognizes that she was beautiful all along" πŸ’˜.

And then there's comedic relief when they take off their glasses for kissing and are practically blind.

But aros have glasses too.
😎

I have a prescription of +0.5 spherical, -0.5 cylindrical. I sure hate wearing glasses, but looking eight hours into a screen is just too taxing without them. For too long, I was in denial and passed the test for the driving license, so "no problems". Nonetheless, it caught up with me in the end.

So I have one Gucci rimless rectangular, one cheap black full rim rectangular for backup, and one green frame Ray-Ban classic wayfarer prescription sunglasses.

mmh... aro sunglasses

The optician really, really aggressively wanted to sell me some €50 blue filter. However, I rather don't want my colors to be distorted, and you can use a blue light filter mode on any modern device anyway. Also, its benefits are questionable and though some people love it, that could be placebo.

So, do you wear glasses?

What kind?

Do you hate wearing them, feel neutral towards it, or perhaps ... even like it 😎 (yes that's, in fact, possible: zero-diopter glasses for fashion have become a growing trend 😲)?

I have a prescription of -1.00 spherical, -3.75 cylindrical. When I don't wear my glasses my vision is a slight blur, which gets worse the further away something is.

I've been wearing glasses since I was 9 years old, so I can't imagine my face without them. I strongly dislike something touching my eyeballs so I don't want contact lenses. When I'm training (kickboxing) I will wear my glasses for warm-up so I can see the instructions but after that I take them off. My sparring partner is standing close enough for me to see her and when the trainer is explaining something I will simply go and stand closer to him.

I should really take better care of my glasses because this pair is pretty scratched up. One of my friends has a wife who works at an optician and he gave me a pile of those nice cleaning cloths because it hurt him to see me wipe my glasses on my t-shirt al the time.

I'm wearing a transparent white one as my daily glasses and I have a spare one that is blue. I have prescription sunglasses but I recently bought one of those huge fit-over sunglasses that you snap over your regular ones and it works super well when driving. My friends tell me that they make me look aggressive but maybe I just am :P
