3 xenieas
Unfortunately, you can't deny who you are for long. You may "fit in" by forcing yourself to be like everyone else and commit to a romantic relationship just like an alloromantic person, but in the end, it's just going to make you tired and sad. You wouldn't find peace in that because deep down, you know that everything you're doing is not how you really feel inside. You would just feel like an impostor and hate yourself more for not being able to become what society wants you to be. Accepting yourself is hard, I know. But it's better to struggle to accept who you are than to struggle to deny who you are. There a lot of positive things about being in the aromantic spectrum, try to engage in different content, like reading the experiences of other people on this site or Tumblr blogs. Try to listen to aromantic playlists made by other aro-spec folks. Find media with representation, which is little. I reccomend "Koisenu Futari", the protagonists are aromantic and asexual. There isn't a lot of content for us, so I know very well how difficult is it to realize you're not alone. But you're not, I can guarantee you this.
