Heya!! Just realised I'm aromantic like... a month ago? Here's my intro + AMA (if you want ig lol)

Recommended Posts

Hi again, my name is Laurel! As to be expected I'm very new, as in, I only came into this forum a few days ago, and have just recently been coming to terms with being aromantic. I suppose I'm still in my questioning phase, technically, though at this point I'm practically convinced I am. I can't even begin to tell you how much this explains. My pronouns are she/her/hers but I'm also cool with they/them/their(s). I've come here simply searching for some sort of community of people like me and maybe advice.

Now, here comes the word dump! lol

I'm an aromantic (obviously; though I suppose accurate microlabels would also be aegoromantic/lithromantic) allosexual, and I'm still unsure of what my sexuality is specifically. I am certain I'm sexually attracted to women, it's men I'm confused about. I've identified as a lesbian most of my life, only recently have I been questioning again, all due to those darned anime men. Oh well, though, I mean, does it really matter at the end of the day?

I'm still a teenager, a girl, and aim to be a human rights/environmental lawyer someday; that, or a teacher or marriage counselor of some kind. When I was younger, I used to read my moms textbooks (and other documents online and otherwise) on how to counsel relationships and relationship therapy, mostly concerning romantic relationship red flags and things about consent, all that jazz, so that I could help my family and friend with their relationships. I was nine.

It's a bit concerning in retrospect.

I'm also very passionate about writing, and one of my dearest wishes is that Microsoft Word, Google Documents, and every other writing program to speak of would stop underlining aromantic as a misspelling.

Finally, funny story, but when I was in 6th grade a boy tried to confess to liking me romantically in gym class, so, I kid you not, I literally sprinted out of the gym. No romo indeed.

Also omg yes it's so annoying! Whatsapp has autocorrected aromantic to aromatic way too many times!

hi! welcome to the forum, hope we can help you with your journey! i'm also a teenager who wants to have something to do with the law (^^)

fun story from me about a confession; when i was younger, a few years ago, a close friend of mine confessed and said "i really like you" and i said "everyone does, i'm really fun!" then when she explained and i went beet red and ran off. not my proudest moment, but alas. the next day she started dating my other close friend, strange.

i hope you enjoy the forum and make new friends!

Especially when autocorrect changes it to "a romantic". 💀

omgg ikr, that's honestly funny sometimes, though; like, actually - that's the very opposite of what I mean-
