  1. These are so cute!! I don't have anything aro-themed but you can find some of my drawings on my Instagram: https://instagram.com/_sib_sab_?igshid=ZDdkNTZiNTM=
  2. Welcome! Hope you have a pleasant experience here
  3. Yeah they're very similar, I can sorta understand written Spanish even though I've never studied it properly, and spoken Spanish if they talk really clearly and slowly
  4. It's for two reasons: one, the joke that goes "I wanna be a schwa: it's never stressed", because well, the stress of a syllable never falls on a schwa (or so I hear). Second reason: in my native language, every word is gendered with the ending vowel representing the gender, and there's only 2 options, masculine (-o) and feminine (-a), so myself, being non-binary, and many other people in queer spaces use the schwa (-ə) as a gender-neutral ending vowel. So it's kinda like saying "I'm a they". Ditto. And thanks :D
  5. Lol what I didn't know she was bi! That's so cool Thank you! :D @A Userlove your pfp by the way
  6. Strange how no-one mentioned FRIENDS by and Anne-Marie and Marshmello... They call it the "friendzone anthem"! Others have already been named, like This is Home, but another song that gives me slight aro vibes is First Love/Late Spring by Mitski. But only the line that goes "Please, hurry, leave me, I can't breathe, please don't say you love me", cause that's exactly how I felt while in a relationship. Otherwise the song is about the singer's first romantic love, so not aro at all lol. Oh and Two Time by Jack Stauber? But that's a stretch too.
  7. It's Solaria! Really? I never thought it was homophobic when I first heard it, personally 🤔 at the time it was kinda revolutionary to talk about bisexuality or gayness in general at all, so I thought any representation was good enough. But I can see where you all are coming from, cause it did downplay sapphic attraction with all the stereotypes the fact that it's "no big deal, it's innocent" 🤷🏻 or that it's just experimentation. Can't believe I'm only just realizing this now >_< Thank you! :D
  8. Hello! I made a thing! Just changed the lyrics to Katy Perry's I Kissed A Girl to make it aroace. (I didn't sing it myself, I used a program that makes a computerized voice sing, similar to Vocaloid if any of you are familiar with that) I know most of the lyrics are a gross generalization of what being aroace means, but I mostly based it off of my own experience, so maybe it won't be relatable to everyone but yeah. Also, sorry for the shameless self-advertisement, but I made it for the aro and ace communities so I'd like for it to reach them :) I hope you like it. Happy aromantic awareness week by the way!
  9. No problem! (What do you mean? O.o)
  10. Ooh I know that channel, it's so good! Because they didn't want him, so "why be?", like "why does he exist" :(( I didn't read the novel, but I watched a video by abitfrank that explains what the differences between book and film are. Here it is if anyone wants to watch it:
  11. Hi wybie, welcome! I hope you didn't choose this nickname because of the reason his parents gave it to him >_< I love Coraline too, just adding myself to the pile! I think we might have very similar discovery processes. I considered all three of these terms for myself, too; then I got tired and just settled on aroace, lol. I thought "this fits, I'll figure it out as I go". So don't sweat it—I don't know if you are, personally I was pretty stressed with discovering my identity so I hope it's a smooth process for you! That sucks… But you have to think about your happiness too; I've been on your same side, I know it feels awful to break someone's heart, especially if you care about them very much, but if it's not working out, it's not working out. I hope you find it in yourself to break it off eventually, and I hope you can stay friends maybe :) I get that, mee too. Good luck with that! And wow, you have such interesting interests (sorry for the repetition lol)! Btw, there's this really cool YT channel that made a bunch of really interesting videos about astronomy, Vsauce; you ever heard of it? They deal with all sorts of topics too, but they have a specific playlist called "Space"; you can check it out if you want. I also love nature; I used to be way into astrology, natal charts and all; and although I consider myself an atheist, I'm very intrigued by spirituality, especially stuff like pantheism/omnideism. So if you want to nerd about any of these things I guess I'm your person! Sorry for the lengthy reply; hope you have a pleasant time here! ^^
  12. Pretty good, thanks; you? :)
  13. Hey I know this is old but just… check this out https://youtu.be/GUCcObwIsOs It is fun to shit on fonts but learning the history behind comic sans was pretty interesting to me (also I love this channel). I used to use it all the time as a kid, so I have fond memories of it hahaha. Also I heard it's easier to read for dyslexic people. Does it really deserve all the hate it gets? …I mean it is pretty ugly but—yeah just watch the video if you want Hey, please don't say that? Indeed, you didn't ask to have anxiety. You are not broken! You just need a little more support because you are struggling! There's nothing abnormal or "broken" about that; lots of people have anxiety. I'm really sorry this is happening to you. Wth?? And why would she think it's even useful?? That sucks! To everyone here struggling with mental health and having loved ones who don't get it, I'm sorry!
  14. Yeah, that's why I used the slash, I use the two terms as synonyms tbh; when I said "I'm not sure how I feel" I meant I don't know if I even want a QPR with the people I like, because I don't know if it's something I would like in practice, or if they'd just end up being as constricting as a romantic relationship >_<
  15. Yeah, I had considered the term orchidromantic too, and it fits pretty well, but giving a name to the specifics of my orientation feels a bit constricting; I prefer just aro or aro-spec :) To answer your question, yes, I do experience platonic attraction, and probably alterous attraction too. I figured my crushes might be alterous instead of romantic, cause I wanna get close to them emotionally, but not in a romantic context. That feels like alterous/queerplatonic to me, idk. I'm still a bit confused, cause it's hard to tell exactly how I feel about people, but that's what I gathered! Thanks for trying to help out ^^ Thank you!
  16. Thanks! I really don't get it honestly
  17. Yes, I had taken both there terms into consideration actually, but I like to just identify as aro! It just feels better for some reason. I was obsessing with getting specific too much and it was driving me crazy, but once I settled for the umbrella term it all became simpler. Lithromamtic also fits, and it is similar to aego, but again, I find it more useful to just identify as aro. I don't dislike microlabels in general, mind you, I think they're really useful and it's important that they exist cause they bring people together, but in my case, they don't make me feel as good as just aro does :). Thank you for your imput! Nice to meet you too! Sure, I'll check it out. Hope your sexuality crisis wasn't too unpleasant. Thanks! I'm sorry for your experience :( amatonormativity sucks! But I'm glad you found it relatable, maybe it can bring some comfort knowing you're not alone.
