  1. Nope, I've never been in either a romantic relationship or QPR. I never even considered dating, to be honest. I would have no freaking clue what to do in a relationship. The idea of me dating seems ludicrous. At times, it has certainly felt isolating. Now that I'm in my 20s, people find it particularly odd that I have never been in a relationship nor do I desire to be in one. Oh well.
  2. I second this, Blue Phoenix Ace. Definitely not offensive. Use the label to your heart's content
  3. Like many others have said, I defaulted to straight at first. I just assumed one day this mysterious "romantic attraction" would hit me....then it didn't.
  4. Ugh, I hate comments like that! It always makes me angry when someone implies I need a husband for anything--just because I'm female-bodied doesn't mean I can't take care of myself thanks.
  5. Hi, Skycaptain! *waves* There's no dessert emoticon yet, and I'm too lazy to search for a picture, so just imagine your favorite ice cream and pretend I gave it to you
  6. Oh yes, definitely get this one a lot . It annoys me much more when it comes from family and friends, as I feel like they should know me better; I've said since I was about 5 that I'm not ever getting married. I think my family thought it was cute when I was little. Then they started getting concerned.
  7. Welcome, breaddd! *gives :ice cream: but is too lazy to look for a picture*
  8. Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!
  9. Definitely not a lightbulb moment for me either. Figuring out I'm ace was easy, but it wasn't until a few months later that I realized I'm aro. I feel like my romantic orientation was a much more gradual realization than my sexual orientation was.
  10. Thanks! I've definitely seen you around AVEN too
  11. Oddly enough, that was my great-grandfather's nickname for my brother. No one is really sure why.
  12. I like the suggestions so far and can't think of anything to add really. As for the number of subforums, I agree that too many can get cumbersome, so I would just say keep it under 10.
  13. Hey, everyone! *waves* For those on AVEN, you may recognize me (same username there). I'm an aro ace currently working on my MA in Linguistics in the UK . I've never been involved specifically with the aro community (only ace), so I'm excited to have this space . Look forward to seeing everyone around the boards!
