I was watching a TV show (some teen drama - I know, shameful) and one of the characters hadn't been in a relationship for like, 2 weeks, and the mum's all "Are you okay? You haven't dated anyone since [ex]" Is that... Just... Really? Is that in any way realistic? "Wow, someone's single for a couple weeks... Must be something wrong" I guess happens at school too - someone will stop dating someone and everyone's asking who they've got a crush on and want to date next, like the world's gonna end if they're single for more than a week.

I haven't really come out to anyone about being aro... I briefly mentioned it to my friend that I thought I was and she seemed supportive, but I dunno, I've heard her say not so great stuff about aros before so... I might bring it up again at some point to her. Don't think there's anyone else I really want to come out to, honestly

I find it hard enough being friends with my best friend because I feel like she's always going to choose romance over me - so, I understand what you mean OP. No matter how close I get to someone, I don't feel like our friendship will last (at least, in terms of really close friends who I can talk to about anything) if they're not aro. I feel too different from them..
