  1. Scary to think that all this wildly off-topic stuff already went through moderation. I just wonder why? I mean, it's not old-fashioned spam bots. How do people even find this rather peculiar site? Why don't they just post on Reddit, Jesus!
  2. Tea. Second Flush FTGFOP1 Darjeeling. There are many other great teas. But this type never disappoints and can be prepared easily - not Gongfu style.
  3. I'm INFP, and I'm aromantic and quoisexual. I took the MBTI test multiple times.
  4. Yeah, I'll eat it -- with one exception: mycoprotein-based meat analogue. This stuff knocks me out. I once ate three plates of fried ceps and that was a lighter meal. Anyway, I still have a favorite food: (vegan) Indian samosas with chickpea filling

What's that? About books from Japan or books in Japanese...? AFAIK anything from the light novel segment rarely gets a translation. And it's light novels you have to read if you want a resolution of the story for many anime that aren't based on a Manga. You get two seasons but there's material for five, six, seven...! I would like to learn Japanese. I can read Hiragana, Katakana and ~30 Kanji, tiny bit of vocabulary and grammar. Not even A1. It's too hard... 😔
  6. Most likely this is about aria-labels? I only see one element that has one: the Search button. BTW, I know that grey is an aro color. But I imagine the gray on white contrast is too low sometimes (all themes have this problem). Thanks for your effort to keep this site running!

  9. Ok, this is still 15 € on Steam... WOW. But Skyrim is 40 € ... I just can't. 🤬
  10. If someone really likes a gender label and strongly identifies with it, I'm happy for them. But this is not a straightforward and clear-cut thing - there is no "right" answer. Gender and gender labels are very difficult to understand and IMHO even paradoxical sometimes.
  11. @roboticanary did I remind you of this topic? My favorite beer is Guinness. Yeah, I'm boring. But it just is.
  12. I was less lucky. I must have gambled away around €100. I mean, in my whole life. Yes the people there are really great for study. Fascinating. But it's only the very casual crowd who will notice you. The serious ones, they wouldn't register it if you stare at them for one hour. So did you have any bad personal experiences? Most people don't have such a strong opinion. Insurances are like the opposite of gambling. And insurance companies usually give back less than gambling for every dollar you pay them. It's just regarded as mature to pay for reduction of variance. Dumb to pay for increase of variance. Seems to be some cultural bias here. In theory a well-adjusted increase in variance might be good (spices things up a little bit). 😉 Of course it sometimes stops being well-adjusted. I don't know if gambling is the worst of the legal vices. At least it's not unhealthy (only indirectly). But it feels like the most shameless. The other vice industries naturally tend play down the harms of their products (like public health or moralists inflate the harms). But they still deliver a real product. And don't just feed on empty hopes - which is the case for pathological gamblers, who even in debt still chase that "big win". I'm surprised that they didn't do this. Australia always seemed like a country to me that has loads and loads of health and safety laws. E. g. mandatory bicycle helmet laws or bans of fireworks. I also wonder how safe from manipulation online gambling is. It takes some criminal intent to manipulate a physical slot machine. But just screwing around a bit with the code? It can also be easily reverted leaving no traces. Don't think it matters much. Problem gamblers are very good at hiding their addiction from their family or partner. They secretly take on huge debts and the belated reveal of the magnitude of the problem comes like a bombshell. I'm not so afraid of it. But there certainly is no reason to start.
  13. Hey, you're supposed to answer with "Ewww" ! 😉 Yum! I like Impossible more, though.
  14. looked it up and... ewww!!!!! (nightmare fuel) a savory pudding I like: Nettle Bread Pudding?
  15. A continuation of the "aros and <vice xyz>" type of threads. Are there aros who like gambling? Statistically they must exist. 😉 In a real Casino, if you play the right games like Black Jack or Craps and play them correctly, you get back ~99% on average. I only did that once (Holland Casino Utrecht). Of course for anyone not having a huge bankroll and not playing on and on, variance is the deciding factor. It's 99% but you might lose everything. Slots OTOH: you get back 95% or less. I don't see the appeal because it's a lonely thing. Nobody else sees my bets. Gambling halls are just full of very silent and mostly sad people. Only slots I might play would be "lucky aro adventure", max payout if you get five aardvarks in a row.
  16. Oh.... aro turtle and their friends 🐢🐢. Sooo cute. I love it.
  17. Never heard of them. Sounds very interesting, must try it out.😄 I'm not a giant fan of Shakira, but you have to admit she's great in her genre. I like all her songs with Portuguese lyrics. If I just don't watch the music video, I can pretend they're not about romantic love. Her English lyrics OTOH... yeah no... I mean even for romantic standards they're quite cringe. The problem is that I learned Latin. And so sometimes I vaguely understand a bit of Portuguese and the illusion that a song like "La Tortura" is really about aromanticism is shattered... 😀 Oh regarding Latin lyrics, sorry for the off-topic stuff: but I'm always super-excited if Latin lyrics appear in video games and anime. I mean, I was put through years and years of misery learning this language. By very angry Latin teachers (the centurion from Monty Python "Romanes eunt domus" comes pretty close). So if I encounter Latin in 21st century media I'm very happy and can say to myself: It was not all in vain! OK, this is the opposite: I enjoy listening to such music because I understand it.

A very fine work of jewelry, which the potato camera sadly doesn't do justice... 😉
  19. Wonder if anyone here really tried that. I mean, that's the whole point of this game, right? Food we actually tried... otherwise we might end up with: Fruit Bat Soup? Yum! Cockatrice egg omelet? Yum! Roasted unicorn? Does not exist but still yum! Spicy aardvark stew? Ewww. You monster!! Yum!!! Another very red one: Rødgrød?
  20. Passenger fined over undeclared McMuffins in luggage 1 August 2022 Pork and beef products sniffed out by Darwin’s new detector dog Zinta Passenger arrived at Darwin airport with a range of undeclared risk products The passenger was issued a $2664 infringement notice Darwin’s new biosecurity detector dog Zinta has uncovered undeclared meat on a passenger arriving from Indonesia. Detector dog Zinta responded to a passenger’s backpack and after further inspection it was found they were carrying a variety of risk items including two egg and beef sausage McMuffins from McDonalds in Bali and a ham croissant. The seized meat products will be tested for foot and mouth disease (FMD) before they are destroyed. Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Murray Watt said Zinta sniffed out the significant biosecurity breach last week and the returning passenger has been issued with a $2664 infringement notice. “This will be the most expensive Maccas meal this passenger ever has, this fine is twice the cost of an airfare to Bali, but I have no sympathy for people who choose to disobey Australia’s strict biosecurity measures, and recent detections show you will be caught,” Minister Watt said. “Australia is FMD-free, and we want it to stay that way. “Zinta was placed at Darwin Airport as part of the Albanese Government’s tough new biosecurity defences, and it’s excellent to see she is already contributing to keeping the country safe. “Biosecurity is no joke—it helps protect jobs, our farms, food and supports the economy. Passengers who choose to travel need to make sure they are fulfilling the conditions to enter Australia, by following all biosecurity measures.” The passenger was issued a 12-unit infringement notice for failing to declare potential high biosecurity risk items and providing a false and misleading document. Last month the Albanese Government announced a new $14 million biosecurity package to deliver more frontline defences in mail centres and airports. The government has also rolled out biosecurity dogs at Darwin and Cairns airports, sanitation foot mats at all international airports, along with support on the ground for Indonesia and neighbouring countries. I'm always amused how proud 🇦🇺 politicians are of their basket case "let's just isolate from the whole world" laws... just like with Covid.
  21. Anyway... Poisonous bite leads German police to farm with 110 snakes "BERLIN (AP) — Police in Germany said Sunday they discovered more than 110 dangerous snakes on a farm after a woman who lived there sought medical treatment for a poisonous bite. The 35-year-old woman drove to a hospital in Salzgitter, near Hannover, early Sunday and told doctors there that one of her rattlesnakes bit her finger. While the woman’s condition deteriorated and authorities hastily ordered an antidote from a specialist institute in Hamburg, police visited the farm in central Germany and found dozens of snakes. In a statement, police said specialists determined the snake collection included both constrictors and poisonous varieties, which weren’t housed in appropriate terrariums. The reptiles were all impounded." That last sentence... Anyway, I just love the fact that she managed to collect a whopping 110 deadly snakes, which she let freely roam on her farm, before she was bitten. Uh-oh. Nobody saw that coming...
